Don't buy it. Product is not as advertised

We bought this TV for our bedroom, really liking the notion of having it look and function like a picture when not in use. The 1st thing we noticed when the TV was being installed, was the cord. I can not find a single picture anywhere on Samsung.com or Etsy, or Google, etc, that show a cord coming out from behind this TV. Turns out, the low profile design requires a massive 14inx5inx3in box the TV needs to plug into to connect to the wall. No way that will fit behind the TV when mounted on a wall in place of a picture. In fact, we have a specific wall built for the TV with an outlet 6ft high, so the cord will not be seen behind the TV. Except we can't use it. So 1st impression of the aesthetics is terrible, and not at all how it is advertised. In fact, one could argue Samsung has falsely advertised this TV with their marketing images and lack of description of the box. 2nd, while the image quality and matte screen are the quality we expect from Samsung, the actual reality of the display has been disappointing. The photo images are backlit so much, that in a dark room, the TV picture still lights up the whole room. Not good for sleeping. They have a motion sensor setting, which turns the image off, until the dog runs in or someone gets up for the bathroom at night. Then, lights up whole room. So now we just keep it off, and now it just looks like a TV on the wall, with a cord running out, and a brown colored frame that does not really go with the solid black screen. It's actually ugly. All in all, super disappointed, and would not recommend this TV because it is not as advertised. Just buy another Samsung TV for half the price, or even another brand for 1/3 the price, and you'll be just as good and get a better value and experience. Plus with Google app, you can still upload a photo. We are pulling the TV off the wall, putting a picture back up, and now just using the "Picture Frame" TV as an ordinary overpriced gimmick TV.

Kalek,
We appreciate you sharing your review, and we're sorry to hear of the misunderstanding regarding The Frame TV's specs.
The Frame TV comes with a One Connect Box, allowing you to connect your components to one separate box, not to the back of the TV. Your TV is connected to the One Connect Box with the One Invisible Connection – a translucent cable allowing you to place your TV accessories wherever works best for you.
To adjust the brightness In Art mode, press the Select button on the remote, then go to Screen Settings. From there, you can adjust the brightness to your liking.
Please also make sure you've got the latest firmware version installed on your TV. You can check this by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
If we can help with anything else, please call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. LiveChat with an agent as well as manuals, software, and warranty info can be found at the ‘Support’ link on our Samsung website.

Beautifully displays artwork or photos

The Samsung Frame TV looks really good on the wall. We hung it in our bedroom, so we did not want the TV to look like it is in a "media" room. It hangs like a picture of the wall. It beautifully displays artwork or a photo.
The downside is that it does not display photos in a slideshow very well. The photos are not full screen, and they are cumbersome to add. However, for displaying an individual photo as a piece of art on the wall, it is great . . . you can crop the photo if you want and can select how the picture crops/fits to the screen. The TV is just not great for slideshows.
Also, the TV works well with Alexa (except for turning the TV on- Alexa tells me that that action is not supported). Alexa will, however, turn off the TV and do searches, etc. I am happy with the Samsung Frame TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The frames that go around the tv cost as much as the tv itself….ridiculous. No picture frame is worth 600 plus dollars. The art work is subscription based, instead of being able buy one piece….the quality of the art actually looking like a picture/matte finish is not anything to rave about . Everyone who has come over knows it’s a tv displaying art…Extract max profits is what this tv is. Would not recommend. Buy a cheaper tv, display your own art on the tv, get crafty and build a frame for it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sleek and minimalist.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got The Frame so my tv didn’t stick out like a big black blob in the middle of our open concept home. It looks great, blends in, and I did the art subscription so I can swap for each season etc. The only thing I can think of improving is some of the apps tend to be buggy. I use our old fire stick for the few that work better outside the Samsung home page. And maybe having additional bezel/frame options. But I am so pleased with how it looks and the picture quality is excellent.

Worst TV we’ve ever owned. For the price we paid, it continues to breakdown. We’ve had several calls, and now waiting on Samsung warranty tech to contact us.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

do not understand

Difficult to navigate to current live news programs. Constant promoting signing up for cable is annoying. You Tube prior broadcasts can be accessed but not through You Tube TV. Remote control is substantially deficient from a Sony remote. Sony picture and sound quality are great. Samsung picture is ok and sound quality is not. None of the foregoing is due to other equipment or installation. Deficiencies of Samsung 85" compared to Sony 85". Having experienced both, in future I would go back to Sony only.
