Is It "on"?

When we decided to replace our former dishwasher, I spent a few hours reading reviews and decided that the 500 Series was the best for us: reasonable price, good performance, and high reliability in addition to the most important characteristic: It cleans dishes exceptionally well. It's been installed for 4 days so we've used it a bit and are extremely happy with the cleanliness of the dishes at the end of the cycle. I must admit that we thought there was a problem on the first cycle: we queued it up, pressed the Start control, closed it and waited... Did we hear something... faintly, yes. "But look at that red light on the floor," I said. "It must be "on"". Later, while watching TV, my spouse said, "I don't hear it. Is it on?" So I got up, went over to it, and said, "Yes, over here I can hear it." It not only washes well, it is very, very quiet.

So quiet, great dishwasher

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is a great dishwasher. First the installation. All of the connections are at the back, making the install so much easier. My old dishwasher had the connections underneath which meant using wrenches in a 3 inch gap between the floor and the bottom of the dishwasher. Not fun. The Bosch dishwasher has eliminated the worst part of the install. Another great feature is being able to adjust the back leveling foot from the front of the machine. I've installed quite a few dishwashers and this was by far the easiest I have ever done. It's a good thing that it shines a red light on the floor when it is running, otherwise you wouldn't know it running ,it's that quiet. Love the top third rack for cutlery, and it cleans the dishes perfectly. Another great feature is that it does not have a heating element at the bottom of the tub. So you can put plastic ware on the bottom rack without worrying if it will melt. Great dishwasher

Poor Quality

This is our second dishwasher in 2 years. The first Bosch failed after 18 months. the cost to repair it was almost as much as new dishwasher so we replaced it with this one. The water pump failed on this one in less than 6 months.

Noise / Tinnitus

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I've had to get rid of a dishwar we've purchased last year to get this beautiful dishwasher on August 0f 2025. I do not hear the noise anymore, the quietest of all.. Let's forget about the noise! It does the job and more. Perfect should have been the title for this dishwasher. we did our research but stood out and we can say this was a perfect buy.

I purchased this dishwasher a few months ago. I complained that there was strong petroleum odor and that the dishwasher stainless steel walls had a lot of water droplets after running a cycle and not opening it until the unit was cooled completely. I am happy to report that the petroleum smell finally went away AND I switched the rinse aid to Cascade Power Dry 3 in 1. The different brand of rinse aid made all of the difference. No longer is water clinging to the walls of the dishwasher at the end of the cycle. Overall, I recommend this dishwaser. It is really quiet and cleans well. At this point, my only complaint is the lack of a delay button on the control panel. I should not have to use my iPhone to control my dishwasher features. Bosch, bring back the dealy BUTTON. I took off 1 star for a lack of delay button.

Bosch 500 Series Dishwasher replacement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously had a Bosch SHX89pw75N which was affected by an electrical damage in our house. Because this model is no longer available, it was replaced with SHP9PCM5N. One of the features that really benefitted us was the top tray in the previous model. This new one has a 3rd tray, but it affects the height allowance for the middle tray (even if the 3rd tray is situated as high as it can go). I had to remove this 3rd tray so the middle tray can accommodate normal size glasses and wineglasses. And the silverware container is not as big as the previous model, so I will have to order a bigger silverware container (I should have kept the container from my deceased model). Overall, the dishwasher provides enough options for dishwashing, is quiet and efficient.

Silent Wash
