This oven is the pits. It has only one heating element (top) and takes FOREVER to preheat. I had an old Kenmore that would preheat in less than 5 minutes. This GE takes at least 15 minutes to get to 350. Have had it about a year and will have to replace. Extremely inefficient. Who knew an oven could have only one heating element. Terrible idea.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd like to help with the preheating times and go over some information for the heating elements.
This model comes with a 8-pass broil element and 10-pass bake element. The back element is hidden to allow for easier cleaning of the surface. Also, since it is "True European Convection" it comes with a convection fan and third heating element that circulates air for more efficient cooking.
It can be normal for the preheating of this oven to be around 15 to 20 minutes. However, there can be factors that can influence the preheating time.
For example, the selected temperature always impacts the preheat time, every 25 degree increment above a 350 degree set temperature will add approximately 45 to 60 seconds to the preheat time. The room temperature and starting temperature of the oven can also add extra time.

My Built-in Smart Oven

It's a highly precise and lovely product. I can do so much with this oven because it is the technology which allows ease with "smart" settings that do it all. The controls are clear and the capacity is the same as the 1957 GE built in that I replaced which lasted for 67 years! Its a 2025 product smart technology appliance which is the current model of a timeless built in i owned for decades and loved.

This oven is fantastic! It has many features that are high-end. IT cooks efficiently. I only wish the SMART remote in the phone allowed me to turn the oven on. I have to be here to set the delay, if I were cooking a roast or something similar.
