Hoping For Good Things

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Replacing my previous G.E. wall oven that I had for many years. This one looks very nice. I am so glad that I could get the black color to match my other appliances. I haven't tried all of the features yet, but thus far I only have 3 minor bothersome things:
1. The digital display window is incredibly ugly. I can see 'ghost' images of 888 all over the place even when not in use. The clock numerals are nearly unreadable compared to what I had before and to what is on my G.E. microwave.
2. The long-running fan that operates after turning it off is annoying, even though not real loud, but I keep thinking of $$ going out for electricity.
3. I do not need, nor did I expect to have the "Sabbath Mode". I hope that it didn't add to the price.

More oven than I need at our summer cottage, but was looking forward to having convection. The oven is lovely to look at, the controls are easy to use, the size is ample for our needs. The oven itself is the problem. The shelves barely slide in and out when the oven is cold. Once the oven heats up they stick so badly that the oven walls get scratched as you try to drag them out to reach a hot dish. If you have anything that is heavy - dutch oven, large roast, etc - it is impossible to get them out. I swore that I would never purchase a GE appliance again (bad experience with a refrigerator), but it was the brand that fit the space best. This reaffirms my position - don't buy GE appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
