Oven would come on all hours and would show a fault code 200 would have to reset. Control panel will work off and on. Only cooked in it twice. Slow to heat up, very noisy Very disappointed. Waiting on parts to come in to replace control panel as well as the main board.
I replaced an older GE double wall oven that was at least 30 years old, so you can imagine the difference between that older oven, and this new one with wifi. This oven is a little slow to pre-heat and slow to cool down, but it cooks evenly and more quickly with the convection function. The wifi is kind of neat. It sends a message to my apple watch when it reaches pre-heat temperature, and sends a message when the cook time is up. If I had only one complaint about this oven it would be the air vent at the bottom of the oven blows hot air across the kitchen from the moment you turn it on, until it reaches a pre-set temperature during cool down. It may take the oven a full hour after cooking to get cool enough to quit blowing the hot air across the kitchen. I have a long narrow kitchen, so when this thing starts blowing that hot air, the kitchen gets really warm. I wish GE would have designed some kind of channeling adapter or something so I could make that hot air blow down toward the floor, or out to the sides, or anywhere other than straight across the kitchen and up my backside. A directional vent would have been so easy to add to this oven. I believe this oven is going to save me money on my heating bill when cooler weather rolls around.
So far, so good. I have not had my new oven for a long time yet, so the proof will be in long-term use.
The Pros:
It seems to heat more quickly and more evenly than my previous oven. Easy programming Looks nice Nice interior
The Con:
The timer alarm is ridiculously low even at its highest setting. Others have commented on this, too. GE should send out some sort of update to fix this. If you leave the kitchen and even go just a little way away, you can't hear it. And, my hearing is fine.
We have other GE appliances, so naturally replacing our stove with a GE brand was top on our list. We were and still are amazed with the quality and performance of our new GE slide-in stove.
The venting at the bottom is a huge improvement over our former model. The porcelain covered racks make life a lot easier. And the interior size is bigger than our last GE model of the the same dimensions. This is our third GE gas oven with the 27" dimension. It is vastly improved over the last models.
The only reason that I purchased this model was because it fit my cabinet cutout. It looks fine and cooks well but it is not an improvement over the older GE wall oven. I takes forever to come to temperature. The timer and alert chimes are almost inaudible unless you are standing next to the oven. The keypad has redundant "buttons". Shelves are hard to adjust. I hope it cleans well, as I cannot use my previous teflon oven liner sheet. Overall, I liked the older model better.
