Cooks flawlessly

All the time I spent researching ovens has really paid off (so far). I'm delighted with this oven and I haven't begun to use all the features yet. Most importantly, it maintains exactly the right temperature throughout the cooking process (I have an oven thermometer to verify this). Everything I have baked or broiled has come out perfectly so far (haven't used the convection feature yet).
I was hesitant about buying another GE oven at first. I have used many GE products over my 50 years of marriage and have always been happy with their products. But my previous oven was an exception. After about 3 years of use it became erratic. After much research I concluded that the problem was due to overheating of the control panel from using the self clean option. That's one reason I selected this oven - it offers a steam clean option. I never intend to use the self clean option again. So far I have been keeping this oven clean by wiping it down after cooking any greasy foods (e.g., roast chicken).
Another reason I selected this oven is that it is very similar to my old GE model. There was no learning curve. Even though I was familiar with the controls, I think this oven would be very easy for anyone to use. The control panel is very intuitive and unobtrusive. You just need to touch it and it lights up and stays visible as long as you are using the oven. When not in use, all you see is the time. The controls respond easily to your touch but they are not overly sensitive. They do not go off automatically if you come to close to the oven which is apparently a complaint about some ovens. I also like the new timer alert. It is much more quiet than the old buzzer, but issues a much more pleasant musical note. I don't find it too quiet even if I'm in another room. However, my hearing is very good so I imagine it could be a problem for someone who is hard of hearing. Another plus, the viewing area is much larger and the oven light is very bright. I can easily see everything in the oven, even items under the broiler.
Even if I never use some of the other features (WiFi access, temperature probe), I am delighted with this oven and hope to have it for many years.

I did a lot of research before choosing this oven. It has the largest amount of interior room in its' class and works VERY well. Quiet as well as very even heating. I can't wait to try out the European convection feature...I'm sure that I will be impressed.

Installation surprise

Beautiful oven, works great. Installation was a problem. Oven was guaranteed to fit where old GE oven and cooktop were installed but it was taller than the old oven and it required extensive modifications to the cabinet for installation.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Tried the probe on pork chops, however, they were still very raw (still bloody) when the probe indicated the correct internal temperature. Perhaps it is best used on roasts and/or turkeys. I didn't feel comfortable with the reading.

Love how it looks. The slide-out rack is unusual and I’d rather have a third rack. Slower to heat than my last GE oven. I haven’t yet tried all the features but so far so good.
