I feel like I've tried everything with no success. Then I read a review on Thermacell and decided to give it a try: best decision ever!
In Alberta, Canada our mosquitoes are relentless (day or night). It takes less than 5 min from turning on the Thermacell and you can actually see the mosquitoes come in, hover and leave! In the very worst of mosquitoes I've needed to use 2 of these thermacells for complete protection! As you'd expect, if its windy the Thermacell isn't as effective.
I highly recommend this product!!

I bought this to defend friends and family from the onslaught of mosquitos in the fair season at our house by the river. I'm a lucky one that mosquitos don't like, but so many friends and family are feast for the buggers--you can seem 'em swarming around the poor souls! The Thermacell Patio Shield is doing a fantastic job of greatly improving the outdoor experiences of our guests. It's quiet, barely puts out any scent, is unobtrusive, and very easy to use. Thank you!

Have yet to get it to work, won’t stay lit

We bought one a month ago but just got around to trying it out. The flame won’t stay lit, and the light just keeps flashing.
I have four fresh butane cartridges and a brand new card in the unit. I turn the switch to “on” and it starts flashing. I wait a count of 5, then turn the switch past Lon” to hear the click and see the flame come on. The light never stops flashing, and in under a minute the flame goes out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
