OK I guess but a bit lackluster

Maybe I'm just out of touch with how things are now...
I had a Norelco corded tripleheader years ago, similar to the attached photo. Then after growing a permanent beard I changed to blade shaving more than 30 years ago. However, two months ago I had throat surgery so I bought the 2300 thinking an electric shaver would be more gentle on my neck than a blade. That it is, but to my memory this shaver runs at a *fraction* of the speed of my old tripleheader. It shaves slowly and the pop-out trimmer is so slow as to be virtually useless. I have to go over any area again and again to get below stubble-stage. It's quiet, but that's hardly important.
I started to buy the basic corded shaver but opted for the 2300 since it didn't have a trimmer. Maybe I should've bought the corded model for better performance? I don't shave in the shower nor anywhere but in front of the bathroom mirror.
For what it's worth, I prefer the (more or less) 90-degree design and ergonomics of the old shaver to this (again, more or less) straight design, but that's just me.
Are my expectations off or is there something wrong with my 2300? Note - I'm not talking about blade-vs-shaver differences, just this particular shaver vs. others.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The shave solves o a lot of my frustrations that I had with manuals razers. This shaver allows to to complete a close dry shave in a couple of minutes or less.

At Philips, we are committed to reducing plastic waste. As part of our environmental efforts, some Philips products no longer come with a USB power adapter. While this may seem inconvenient, we assure you that it is because most consumers already own one or multiple USB wall adapters. We will continue supplying USB charging cables with the product that can be used with a USB power adapter. You can use any USB power adapter which you have but make sure that the power adapter is certified and meets safety standards, ideally from a trustworthy brand. See the safety standards for safe charging below: Input voltage: 100-240V. Output voltage: 5V. Power output: 1A or higher. If you want to use or charge your product in a moist environment, for example, in the bathroom, always use a splash-proof (IPX4) rated adapter. If you do not own a USB power adapter we recommend a splash-proof (IPX4) adapter. You can get this adapter in the Philips online store or any other retailer. Look for "IPX4" text or symbols on the adapter.

Good shave!

I was asked to review this product. I shave about once a week and I have to say this has been the best electric shaver at its price that I have come across. It cuts smooth like butter and gives you that baby bottom feeling of smoothness. One thing that I wish was capable of this product was for a wet shave but the dry shave was just as good! I have been using it for a couple months and I am thoroughly happy with the product and would recommend it to someone who is looking for a reliable shave when needed.
