I bought this for my husband in September and the blades are full and need replacements already! They seem to be expensive considering it's only 3 months old

I had to replace my old shaver which also was a Philips but caused me problems because I had no instructions with it. Got it from my son a number of years ago. It always worked fine until it started making a grinding noise and wasn’t giving me a clean shave anymore. I think it needed new blades. With no instructions it was very hard to find the right blades. So I decided to buy a new shaver.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me cut to the chase... - it is close shaver BUT - it does not hold the charge/last long, it uses old gen Ni-Cd batteries - it takes LONG to full charge - it is slow spinning, even with the chord attached. So you can see the con outweighs the pro(s) so I'd say look for another one.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your experience with us. When you charge your Philips Shaver for the first time or after a very long time the battery starts charging very slowly to prevent damage to the device. Charging takes approx. 8 hours and the fully charged shaver has a shaving time of up to: 40minutes. You can also use the shaver while it is plugged-in and charging, although we advise to leave it a charge for a bit before using it, especially if the battery was completely drained out. It is possible that the performance of your shaver has declined because it is dirty. There can be hair or dirt particles stuck inside it, causing the shaving heads to don’t function correctly. To fix this problem, properly clean your shaver. If possible, remove the shaving heads and clean your shaver from the inside as well. For detailed cleaning instructions, please refer to the user manual.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a bit disappointed in the short battery life. Gives a comfortable close shave. Reasonably priced.

Hi Ronan,
Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear you are disappointed with your shaver battery life. This device is meant to operate up to 40 minutes after an 8 hour charge - that’s around 13 shaves. You can also use it in corded mode for instant and continuous power. If the battery lasts less than 40 minutes, please make sure to keep your device properly clean and charged.
If this doesn't improve your experience, please reach out to us on Social Media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/Philips ) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/philipscare). Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further.

Barely shaves even fresh out of the box

I bought this thing and it barely trims anything, no matter how long or hard I hold it to my face. My old shaver was leaps and bounds better than this one.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Norelco 2300 shaver. It's a pity to hear that your device is not performing as you had hoped and expected by far. Your feedback is much appreciated. We're not sure for how long you've been using the shaver exactly, but it would be good to keep in mind that your skin needs to adapt to it. It's recommended to allow yourself an adjustment period of two to three weeks with your new device.
If you have longer facial hair, it would be good to pre-trim it before shaving. While shaving, it is also important to be gentle, especially if you have a sensitive skin. Do not press the shaver too hard against your skin. Only apply gentle pressure that makes your facial hair stand upright and makes it easier for the shaver blades to catch and cut them.
If following the tips above does not bring improvement, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook (Philips) and Twitter (PhilipsCare). Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Your feedback regarding the shaver is noted. Thank you again for sharing this.
