Frustrating changes to an otherwise good product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to replace my old Phillips electric razor so I purchased this one, which seemed similar to my old one. However there are two things I don’t like about the new razor. One, the charging chord requires a USB outlet. Who has a USB outlet in the bathroom? Very frustrating. So I used a USB adapter to plug it into the wall outlet. But it doesn’t let me use the shaver while it’s plugged in. My old razor did. So I have to wait until it’s charged before I can resume shaving. Not good when youre in a hurry in the morning.

Worst Electric Shaver I've ever used

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The simplest thing to say is that this low end shaver simply doesn't provide a clean shave. I do not have a particularly heavy beard but no matter how many times I carefully go over my face there's still a stubble. I've used Phillips Norelco shavers most of my adult life ( I'm 74). This is the first shaver that I've had that could be used wet or dry. That isn't at all what I wanted. I want an electric only shaver that is EASY to clean and gives a good close comfortable shave. I bought a 6820 a couple of weeks ago and I could get its clean and I wouldn't attach the trimmer and I returned it. I probably shouldn't have bought such a low end shaver to begin with, but I didn't want to spend more for a wet/dry until I tried it. I'm in the market and I'd welcome suggestions for what to buy, but I don't want to spend hundreds of $$$.

Solid Shaver, good battery life

Starting off with its shape, I like how ergonomic it is and how it fits well on my hand while shaving. Cuts closer then most shavers I`ve had in the past, especially around the chin. The built in Trimmer is a plus! Convenient for sideburns trimming. Battery life is average and on par with other shavers I`ve owned. Charges overnight and I was able to shave for two weeks without needing recharge.
Cleaning the hair collector chamber with the brush can get annoying and time consuming. i would suggest having the head pivot on the unit and be waterproof so that it can be washed and cleaned quickly.
Overall it is a solid shaver.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very disappointing

I have always used Norelco shavers, and I have always been satisfied until now. I recently bought a S1211/81. When unplugged, it has very little power. I have to go over my face and neck 5 or 6 times to get a decent shave. The charge may only have 30 minutes max. It operates a little better when plugged in, but this is inconvenient. I am glad I still have an older Norelco as a backup. The old shaver now becomes my main one.

A very basic shaver that just gets the job done.

The Philips Shaver Series 2300 is very light weight and does not have a real sense in your hand. It feels inferior to other products which has some weight and presence. The shaver provided a mediocre shave, I had to go over multiple times to get all the facial hair. Even after multiple passes it still left a tiny stubble. The head of the shaver did not pivot which would have been more comfortable to use. The trimmer on back was very difficult to open to use. The trimmer shaved a clean line on my sideburns. The battery life was still good after 3 weeks of daily use. It is a basic electric shaver with no luxury feel. This would probably be a good starter electric shaver and is probably the lower end of shavers.

Hello Dave, We're sorry to hear that you didn't get the expected results with your Philips Shaver. For the best result when using your Philips Shaver with a foam or shaving gel, we'd recommend you to take care of the following: Always wash your face with water and soap before you start your shaving routine, after which you can apply your shaving gel or foam. Now you should start shaving by moving your shaver in circular movements over your skin. Doing this ensures that all hair growing in different directions are removed. If you're shaving dry, then we'd recommend you to allow at least 15 minutes for your skin to dry completely before you start shaving after washing it with soap and water.

Let us know if this answers your question and if not, please feel free to get in touch via social media. Portable Convenience
on December 4, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Get this shaver if you need something portable. It shines in that role. Its three circular shaver also pushes in to follow the contours of the face. I would recommend it keeping in the car for those days when you forget to shave but need to look clean for a meeting. It is not going to give you a perfectly clear shave like a traditional blade but no electrical blade would do that due to a built-in safety layer separating your skin with its internally rotating blades. However, a traditional blade requires a lot more time to prep and use. In absence of time, this fits the bill. It still gives you a very good cut while delivering on convenience. This is a good one!

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback regarding the Philips Norelco Shaver 2300. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the shaver, let's take a closer look and hopefully improve your experience. Firstly, could you make sure your shaver is charged fully for 8 hours. If you have not shaved for a couple of days and have a heavy beard, it is a good idea to trim your beard before you start shaving. This technique also helps in reducing shaving time. While shaving, it is important to be gentle, especially if you have sensitive skin prone to irritation. Do not press the shaver too hard against your skin. Only apply a gentle pressure which makes your facial hair stand upright and makes it easier for the shaver blades to catch and cut them.

No Power

I am 55 years old and have been using Norelco razors for many years. My wife bought me a new Series 2000, S1211 for a Christmas present. This new razor has no power. It seems like it turns half the speed of my old Aquatec model. It will bog down so much you have to lift off your face so it catches up. It also does not cut as close. I pulled the blades out to inspect them. They look much different than my older model. I di try running the shave down all the way and recharging for 24 hours. I also tried cleaning the heads with water and cleaning them independently with a brush. Nothing has increased the speed or the power. The battery life seems to be fine. Norelco triple head shavers used to be the best.
