Mainly because he was complaining that every time he had to purchases new blades the price had raised again. He’s been using this razor for about 2 months and after the initial couple weeks he says he loves it and will never go back to blades. My Dad has used one for 30 plus years and he recommended this particular model. He is 88 and keeps telling me this is the last one he’ll be buying.

It took a couple of weeks for my skin to get used to using an electric razor, I had some rash and some skin tags taken off by this new razor, but after I got acclimated to it , it works great.
I get a fast, clean ,close shave every time now.
Also it holds a charge for a long time. I charge it every couple of weeks and it could go longer without a charge.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've liked the Phillips razors in this series for many years, but this particular shaver, at a reasonable price was an especially nice upgrade because it is SO easy to clean. As previously you flip up the face of it and run water over the compartment that collects the shaving residue. But in this new version, it works so nicely that you will only rarely have to get the hair particles out of the shaver blades.

A really great shaver!

The S3333/54 Canadian and European version is a fantastic shaver in the traditional design with the clipper on the back. It does the job fine and is very easy to clean. Runtime seems to average about 45 minutes to 1 hour. The display of 3 white bars is clean, simple to read and understand. When the charge is getting really low the display will show one bar in orange.
I was so pleased with the S3333/54 I bought my son one. So another possible option would be to check out the US versions under the name Norelco Philips. The Norelco 3800 Silver or Norelco 3500 Blue (no charging stand/base) are identical except for the colours. So if the seller will ship to your country. You'll just need a charger tip adapter if you cannot use a North American plug. But the Philips charger works on 110 or 220.
