A screw broke inside the grill while using handtools
Response from traegergrills.comBy Traeger GrillsTraegerOctober 11, 2024
Hi, and thanks for your feedback on the Traeger Flatrock. Anytime a part is damaged during normal use and maintenance, please reach out to Traeger Customer Service as soon as it occurs. This includes items like screws, bolts, nuts and other hardware, in addition to the Flatrock's major components. A quick call while you are with the griddle should provide a resolution, possibly without even needing anything replaced. And while parts may not be covered if your Traeger is out of warranty, we can still assist in other ways, regardless of how old your Flatrock is.

Great but could be a little better

I’ve been using it for a couple days now and it’s by far the best flat grill I’ve had or used. I also have the Traeger Timberline pellet grill that I’m very happy with. That being said I do have a couple of feedback comments for Treager on the Flatrock if your listening.
1st: The side tables need some type of rubber bumper on them similar to the Timberline. When you fold the tables down for storage the P.A.L. assembly bumps metal angainst metal on the flatrock legs. It’s noisey and it causes the leg paint and P.A.L. rail to chaff. It can/will become a point of corrosion in the future.
2nd: I know it adds to the cost but can you design a cover for the flatrock that’s similar to the Timberline in that the cover works when the side tables are extended? The current cover version for the flatrock doesn’t allow for the extended side tables and it kind of cuts down on the effectiveness of the P.A.L. system. What’s the use of having the P.A.L. system if you have to remove all of the P.A.L. accessories to put on the cover?

Great at cooking -- poor design for propane hookup

This griddle cooks with extremely even heat that's easy to control. Cleaning and maintenance also easy to complete. However, you need the strength and flexibility of an olympic gymnast to crawl under the unit to hang the propane bottle.

Thanks for your feedback on the Flatrock Griddle. Although the tank should not have to be lifted very far to hang on the rack, and any of the openings/handles on the tank collar can be used for the hanger, it may be helpful to have a second person help with getting it into position under the griddle if you find it difficult to do alone. In situations like this, it is better to be safe, especially since it is not something that needs to be done very often.

AWESOME griddle

Bought this a few months ago. Gone through my first propane tank. Grille has been AWESOME. Very even heat across the entire surface. Love the different zones. Built very sturdy! Love you oversize shelves. Love the fuel gauge and the burner ignition lights. We went from a weber genesis that we hardly used anymore, to this. I bet we've used this griddle more the past few months then the last few years on weber (and not knocking weber genesis, nicest bbq I have ever owned). Just love you can cook large breakfast for everyone. Grill up sandwiches for lunch. And do so many things for dinner. It was between this and the camp chef gridiron 36 for me. Very similar units. I liked the height more of traeger. Also liked the 4 adjustable castor wheels. Gridiron doesn't have that, can only adjust the griddle flat top front to back, not left to right. Also liked the propane tank beneath the unit instead of the side as the flatrock can fold the shelves down...gridiron ya can't with a propane bottle attached.
Grease management is awesome on both. I love the grease trap up front. It's a natural sweep toward yourself and is more the conventional way of flat tops at restaurants. I haven't been impressed by the other brands, other then the price.
Ya get what ya pay for. Budget good griddle, camp chef gridiron 36. For me, it's the traeger flatrock all the way!!

Highly disappointed!

I bought this unit in January. It has been nothing but problems. I may have used it 10 times. The battery pack falls out of the flat rock. The heat is never consistent. At times It will not even heat up to temp. The ignite panel is peeling off the grill and now fails to work. This is my first Traeger product. I’ve owned 6+ grills(other brands) and this is my first negative experience.

This flat rock is amazing in comparison to my last blackstone griddle I owned. The placement of greastrap is what led me to purchase this Traeger. So much cleaner when grilling and heating elements are superb! Thank you

I’ve had mine just about a year and it has been one of the best grills that I have ever had. The things that you can cook are endless.
I also bought one of the very first pellet grills/smoker that they made about 25 years ago and I’m still using it.
