Big disappointment

What a disappointment. I have used the galaxy platform for years on an employer provided device and this phone is the first one that I purchased in retirement. I feel the platform's performance has declined for me with at least the last 3-4 devices I have used, likely dating back to 2015 or so. Why did I purchase one if the former is true? I guess it's because this Boomer just didn't want to have to learn an entirely new "language" by switching to the "other" options from different manufacturers. Shame on me. I cannot recommend Samsung smartphones until they (and ALL electronics manufacturers) begin to support and improve their current product lines with same veracity they demonstrate to "be first to the market" with next substandard product. The entire industry is bleeding the average consumer to death with this production and marketing stategy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great phone when it isn't overheating

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a S10 for years until it was announced new phones with Galaxy AI were being released.
There's rarely need to update phones anymore with all the incremental improvements. But I feel a phone with integrated AI would be worth the cost.
However, in any temperature above room (or even room) the phone will rapidly get hot and soon after begin limiting functionality.
I would have given this a 4* as there's no other monumental improvements over the S10, but the temperature issues hold it back

The Galaxy S24 Series features dynamic AMOLED 2X displays that support a 1-120Hz screen refresh rate and have a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The S24 Ultra and S24+ have a QHD+ screen resolution, while the S24 has a FHD+ screen resolution. Both the S24 Ultra and S23 Ultra are equipped with dynamic AMOLED 2X displays - 120Hz. We notice that you may be experiencing some overheating with your phone. Whether you're using a phone, tablet, smartwatch, or earbuds, all Galaxy devices have a specific temperature range in which they operate optimally. While they may feel warm under certain conditions, such as when charging, this should not affect the device's performance or lifespan. However, excessive heat could lead to issues. Please refer to the attached link for options to help maintain your device at its normal operating temperature. Overall great experience, except for one instance where the phone screen froze for 30 mins. This instance happened 15 mins after when I plugged it into a portable powerbank.
I would recommend this to a friend!
