We have two of these in our home. Added a kitchen to our terrace level 3 years ago and installed the first one. Six weeks ago the builder grade one installed when we built the home years ago stopped working. Bought another KitchenAid because of the quality very little noise.
Pros: Performance, Design, easy to use

Quit after 2 years

This unit worked well for 2 years with very light usage, and then it just quit.
What do you expect with a 1 year warranty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The KitchenAid 1/2 H.P. garbage disposal performs as it is supposed to. However, next time I would have purchased the 3/4 or 1 H.P. model. On garbage such as cantaloupe rinds, etc., it is necessary to cut the pieces in small pieces to keep the disposal from clogging.

This is our second KitchenAid waste disposer. The first one lasted over 15 years. I installed this myself and the directions were very good. The disposer works very well and quite a bit quieter.

Great Food Waste Disposer

This recent purchase of the KitchenAid 1/2-Horsepower Continuous Feed Food Waste Disposer was the last and only disposer in three of the local town three appliance dealers. The manual guide installation of the disposer and the wiring connection was very easy, and the operation of the disposer is highly satisfactory.

Failed in 8 Years-Minimum Use

Failed, internal failure, in 8 years of light, minimal usage. Guess why the limited warranty is for ONE year! If maintenance and/or early replacement is of concern to you, do not buy it.
