This was a replacement for our old Disposer. It was also a Kitchen aid. The old one provided great service for 16 years so it didn't make any sense to look at any other brand.

Bought this disposer to replace my 12 year old disposer that was starting to get noisy and because I had a new granite counter top installed. Wanted to replace faucet and older disposer to match new granite counter top. New KitchenAid is powerful for a 1/2 horsepower disposer and is fairly quiet.
