remaining cooking time estimate is incorrect

The remaining cooking time estimate has so far never been correct in any cooking medium - be it oven, hob or sous vide. Also I miss a cook by sous vide option. Also I too often the external temperature is off when cooking in oven, even with the fan on. With the fan on I expected it to be more correct.

Hey Doul, thanks for sharing your feedback, cook time estimates are dynamic and adjust based on how the internal temperature changes during cooking, so factors like probe placement in thinner sections, flipping the meat, or changing heat levels can all shift the timing, for larger cuts there can also be natural stalls where the temperature rise slows and the estimate extends, placing the probe in the thickest part and keeping a steady cooking temperature usually gives the most consistent results, if the ambient reading seems off in the oven make sure the probe tip is fully inserted and not exposed, and feel free to reach us at +1 888-407-0303 if you would like us to take a closer look MEATER

Started Great.... now just disappointed

I loved this product when I first got it... worked well for about the first year or so very well. Now I have problems with connections, and the battery constantly says its low now matter how long I charge it for. The other issue is the Ambient temp sensor now reports the ambient temperature as a negative number, so I am skeptical that it is going to actuality measure my cooks accurately. I really want to get another one, but am concerned I am going to end up in the same place.

Our official support information notes that low battery warnings can sometimes occur when residue or buildup prevents proper charging, while incorrect ambient readings may appear if the sensor has developed internal damage or moisture exposure. As a next step, we recommend cleaning the charging contacts and ambient end of the probe thoroughly, confirming the probe and app are fully updated, and allowing the probe to charge completely before testing it again. It can also help to inspect the ceramic ambient end for cracks, looseness, or any visible separation that could affect sensor accuracy.

Good app and probe, poor wireless.

When I purchased my first kettle grill, I decided to upgrade to a wireless temperature probe. There is a lot to like about the Meater: the app is well designed, and being able to see the temperature dial in real time is genuinely informative instead of having to guess whether the temperature is rising or falling.
However, the wireless connection is unreliable. I even pulled out a spare iPhone and placed it by the window next to the grill, which helped somewhat but not consistently. In addition, using a single AAA battery to charge the probe and power the wireless connection is a poor design choice. It would make more sense to use two batteries or USB-C for more reliable power.
Aside from these issues, the product works great.
