I love all my MEATER Bluetooth thermometers! I am so happy that you guys have made the MEATER+. I do a lot of reverse searing, and deep frying chickens and turkeys, so this is perfect for me. I like to think I am a good chef, but MEATER has made me better! Thanks MEATER.
This was a gift from my wife. I must say I had my doubts but my Turkey was smoked perfectly just under 7 hours. My smoker does not have a temp gauge so it can be tricky to get it.just right. This probe monitored my temp in the smoker and let me work the heat controls to keep it within the desirable cooking temp. I will use this for my outdoor smoking from now on.
It is not to accurate with the ambient heat but internal readings are good. Also disconnects from base frequently even when it is very near the probe.

Thank you for your review of the MEATER Pro. The ambient sensor is used to calculate the cooking time of the meat, and it measures the air temperature surrounding the meat. If you put a cold piece of meat in the grill/oven appliance, it cools the air around the piece of the meat, causing a cool air bubble. As the meat cooks, the bubble will reduce and the ambient reading will be closer to the appliance's set temp. Inaccurate readings can be caused by placing the probe too far into the meat can cause the ambient end to touch the meat and cool down the sensor readings. If the Probe Is connected but often drops while in use, it can be a range issue. Check out the videos below that go over ambient temperature and range expectations. We bought a Meater Pro to help with the Thanksgiving turkey this year. I think an under-appreciated benefit is the ability to dynamically adjust cooking temperature to meet a desired completion time. We had a schedule for when guests would arrive and be served. I was able to modify the oven temperature between 325 and 350F in order to pretty much nail a time that the bird would be ready. Of course, the results were great as well - cooked to perfection.
I have an original Meater and now the Meater Pro.The Pro has a lot of improvements. It is much thinner so can be used on thinner cuts of meat. Multiple sensors and the software gives you the temperature of each sensor. I definitely feel the higher max temperature is a big improvement
