I bought the MEATER Pro/2 Plus to replace my Meater + which was damaged by excessive heat. I had expected the Pro to be more accurate and responsive but have been disappointed thus far. The response time on temperature readings (especially Ambient) seems very slow and cooking times can change quickly. Recently the remaining time on Filet Mignon changed from 13 min to 8 min to 11 min to 5 min within a one minute time period. I also don't understand the "Resting" function. I wanted Medium-Rare steak (135 internal target temp) and the MEATER told me that it was still "resting" when the internal temp was reading 145 degrees. Why doesn't the algorithm say it's finished when Internal temp reaches target temp?

Thank you for your review of the MEATER Pro. The response times start after they have time to gather enough data. Usually after the ambient reaches 60 degrees. To create the perfect cook use meats that are thawed and preheat the device ensuring the temperature remains stable throughout the cook. This will allow the estimated cooking time and the resting time to be more accurate. One of the most important things is to make sure to rest the meat unwrapped on a room temperature surface, such as a cutting board. Where possible, cooking at a lower temperature for longer is better for achieving the desired target. Watch the videos below to learn more about cook time estimates and resting your meat. I got the MEATER Pro a little over a month ago and use it every weekend! Everything has been perfection and I can't wait for my next cook! Maybe trying some Brisket soon!!!
Not happy, lost connection during first cook! Can’t get it reconnected, I’ll change the battery and try again.

The new temp readings consistently overshoots my ideal temperature. I prefer the meater pros that i have, which is consiste for my cook.

Thank you for your review of the MEATER Pro. Typically, when meat overcooks with MEATER, It's because of the placement of the probe or to do with the way the meat is resting. Our algorithm functions based on the idea that meat is rested uncovered on a room-temperature surface, like a cutting board, after being removed from the heat. Check out this video that explains the internal temperature. https://youtu.be/aCJgZQ8glVI If you still have questions contact us https://support.meater.com/contact-us and one of our agents will be happy to look at your MEATER with you.
