Our daughter and son in law BBQ'd a "Cowboy steak" for us using the Meater in a pellet fed BBQ/smoker. It was delicious. The Meater took so much guess work out of the process, and at the same time made it fun. I got home and bought my own Meater, wireless thermometer. I cooked some Cowboy Steaks in our weber BBQ kettle. The set up instructions were so easy. The app give easy instructions on how to prepare the meat, how to cook it, how long to let it rest, the whole process. It was so fun, and tasted GREAT!
I use a gas grill and have made about 15 steaks since buying. The app makes it easy - just make sure you have the meater in the center and it poking against the edge of your meat.
Gotta say a little disappointed! The wi fi range is still not good!

We appreciate your feedback. We’d like to clarify that the MEATER Pro is equipped with a built-in Bluetooth booster, which means it doesn’t rely on WiFi range. To maintain a strong connection, it’s important to keep the charger as close to the probe as safely possible during a cook. Environmental factors such as walls, closed windows, and doors can impact the range of the charger. Additionally, materials like foil, covered cooking dishes, and heavily insulated cooking appliances can affect the probe's connectivity. For more tips on improving your connection, we encourage you to visit our Support Wizard at support.meater.com/helper.
I bought this for my husband and, while he loves it, the first recipe he used it with it disconnected and completely threw off the cook time of an a very long prepped roast. The battery was charged and we don’t know why it disconnected. It was a disappointing first use for sure. But he is sticking with it and has made some other great meals. Just maybe not so reliable if you plan to smoke something for a longer time.
Upgraded to this model from the original.. Both work excellent.. perfect cooks every time.. wether using oven, grill or smoker..
I would highly recommend.. Whenever I travel to friends or family for cookouts and dinner, I always take along.. People are so impressed with it's performance and ease of use that they almost always order one for themselves..
Used it the other day with one of the original meater probes and they read 100 degrees different on the ambient heat setting. Not sure how they can be that much different with the meat side by side.

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us! The ambient sensor is used to measure the air temperature surrounding the meat on that specific area, which helps calculate the cooking time more accurately. This is an essential feature for optimizing cooking results. For a more detailed explanation, we have a YouTube video that covers this in depth. You can check it out here: youtu.be/GRo0d4kcO8A.
