Effective Dethatcher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few weeks back to dethatch a pretty sad lawn. The instructions for putting together the unit were a little hard to understand without any writing and the pictures were not super helpful, but I didn't have any trouble figuring it out and putting it together. Just needed to attach the handle. I started with going over the lawn one direction on the highest setting to see how much it would pick up the first time around. I was blown away by how much it picked up. And that was only on the first pass at the highest settings. I am going to go over the lawn again in a perpendicular pattern and at the next lowest setting and I am sure it will pick up a lot more. At the highest setting it was pretty easy to maneuver and was basically like vacuuming your lawn. I used the bag attachment for a few passes but it was not that useful considering how much thatch was being picked up so I just went over the lawn without the bag and cleaned it up afterward with the lawnmower. I am very happy with my purchase.

Does the job!

Lightweight unit, but it really does the job. Started at the highest setting just to test it out and I filled two yard bags after only 800 sq ft. Easy to handle. The catch bag is useless (you would have to empty it every few feet), better to bungee the cover plate up and rake it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great results!

I am beyond pleased with this purchase. The unit is light weight and easy to use. Light weight DOES NOT mean no power, the torque is awesome. On the highest setting, I am pulling out bag after bag of thatch and debris. I did not use the collection bag, I bungeed the cover and picked up the thatch with my lawn tractor. I highly recommend this dethatcher!

Thatch yourself instead of paying a lawn service

We got the described results on our half acre. The job was broken down into segments so it would be manageable. The collection bag was another matter. It was not really sufficient for the amount of thatch the tool produced.

This thing is a beast.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Even though it is plug in this thing is a beast. I was able to do the backyard in no time. The time and effort saved is well worth the money. I had someone dethatch my lawn last year and it cost more than the machine. Will save you big bucks in the long run and you have the pride of doing it yourself
