When this machine works its does what it is supposed to. But dont plan on using it if it is hot outside our you have a thick lawn. This thing constantly overheats and shuts down. I am halfway through my back yard and have had to take it inside and put it in front of a fan to cool it off five times. The height adjust on the wheels will not stay on the settings for more that 10 feet. I had high hopes for this as we have several worx products in the family but this one will be going back.

Great quality for a great price!

I bought this after deciding on another brand. The other brand had reviews that no replacement belt was available for their product, what lousy service is that. After seeing the reviews, it was a no brainier on this product. A trusted brand, 3 year warranty and a great price! The dethatcher worked like a charm, it had plenty of power and was easy to set up and use. I would highly recommend this dethacher as well as Worx products.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to use, works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently purchased to take care of years of grass and leave thatch in my lawn. Used 1 time and it removed 90% of the debris. It worked so well the debris catcher would overflow after 1 pass.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It did every thing that gas powered dethatcher did for me in the past. It is light and easy to push. It work great. I did mow the lawn at 21/2 inches before I used the electric dethatcher on setting number 2.

Choose because of collection bag.

I choose this dethatcher over others on the market because of the collection bag, but its small and seemed to actually hinder the collection. There was a problem with assembling the unit. In the directions they say:
ASSEMBLY
INSTALLING LOWER HANDLE
1) Insert lower handle into the housing hole.
(See Fig. A1)
2) Align the two holes on the handle and the
housing. Use the supplied screw to fasten the
lower handle to the housing. (See Fig. A2)
Guess what? There were NO pre-drilled holes for the supplied screws to go into.

The dethatcher did perform the task of raking out dead grass, so I guess I have reluctantly recommend this machine, but only with informing about the bag problem.

Does Excellent job and picks up a lot of thatch.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this dethatcher to do my 1/3 acre yard of zoysia grass which was never dethatched in 8 years. I like the three levels that it can be set at. I use it on the middle level (2) and it really picks up the dead grass without damaging the good grass. It rakes right to the dirt at that level. Make sure your lawn is not wet and use a 12 gauge cord if going over 50 feet to ensure that it has enough power and doesn’t overheat. If it does overheat, it will stop until it cools down. I do small areas at a time (30 x 30 area) and then use my lawn mower to bag the thatch. Works great.

I have several WORX products and love them. But this de-thatcher was disappointing and was sent back.
1) The actual de-thatching tines work great. On the 1 setting it captured the thatch in my lawn without damaging the lawn.
2) The setting wheel would often switch to another setting. I'd be moving along and all of a sudden I was digging a hole in my lawn and I realized the setting wheel had moved to 2 or 3.
3) The bag is small. OK, I thought that would be workable since I would be using this product only once a year and could empty the bag into the wheelbarrow as I worked. But the bag would not fill up. It would fill about 1/4 and then start leaving the thatch on the lawn. I ended up going over the whole lawn with my WORX lawnmower to pick up the thatch.
In conclusion, in reading reviews I didn't expect this product to be awesome, but I thought it would get the job done. I was wrong. It was just frustrating and I think my neighbor was watching me. So I'm definitely down a point in the Lawn Wars... : )
