Thatching made easy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a gas powered Thatcher but needed to replace the metal tines. When I saw this electric one and it was cheaper than the replacement thought give it a try. I found it to work very well and was easy to use. The hardest part is the cord but after trying several things I found if you keep it to the side that is already thatched it not bad. I found I got out just as much thatch as I did with my gas powered one. Love and would recommend this to my friends. Wheels and height adjustment very easy.

Might be worth the cost and effort

This unit arrived in California about 9 days after I ordered. There were manufacturing defects on where the screws go to keep the handles in place (unit required the screws to enter from the outside, but the holes on the handles were on the inside so you could never get screwed in) but the unit worked anyway. I purchased this specifically for the catch. While the engine has got a lot of pep and it's certainly does the job, the catch only captures about 20% of the thatch defeating the whole purpose if buying one for the catch. Everytime I hit a small divot the catch jumped and emptied what little it collected back on the lawn.
The other issue is that I noticed is that while it ran like a champ, anytime I came to uneven areas in the lawn I had to strain to get it over the area making it really hard to use and then ofcourse, it dumped everything in the catch when I lifted the unit to keep it moving.
Don't buy it for the clippings catch. By it for the motor and just know that if you need a catch, this is not the unit for you.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Decent, not w/o some flaws

I'd like give this 3.5 stars. For the price it does what it's supposed to do. It's not self propelled so it's difficult to move it over bumpy/uneven yards. The collection bag flat out doesn't work. I own a lot of Worx tools and like the overall design and quality. For it's price this is a good machine and is more economical than renting one - after 2 uses it's paid for itself.

14" electric dethatcher

The dethatcher did a great job de-thatching the lawn. However, I have three comments:
1) The height of the handle is not adjustable; one height for all.
2) The wheel height kept changing from 1 to 2, which was aggravating.
3) The catcher bag is completely useless; it catches nothing.
