Good function not so great battery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit works great as a replacement for my old trimmer. However, the battery supplied with the unit is not exactly the same as my old 20 volt batteries. While the old batteries work, they have to be jammed into the trimmer. It would have been nice of the old batteries worked the same.

Great Edger, Does NOT Overeat Its String!

I got so frustrated with the corded big-name brand string trimmer/edger, what with it going through an entire spool of line every time I trimmed my suburban lawn, I trashed it and bought the cordless Worx Trimmer/Edger WG170.2. This Worx trimmer/edger is really amazing. The trimming is fairly typical, but the edging is unbelievable. It cuts through the grass/thatch/dirt along the sidewalks/curbs like a razor, leaving a clean, straight edge....and it hardly uses any string! When it is time for more string (after going through the 3 spools that came with the trimmer), no worries - this came with free string for life (but ya’ gotta’ pay shipping).
I like this trimmer/edger so much that I’ve bought two more for my sons-in-law for Christmas presents. Turns out theirs are a little better – theirs come with the 4 amp-hour battery, mine is the 2 amp-hour.
One-star deduction for the horrible owner’s/instruction manual. I’m really surprised that Worx would put out a manual like that. This trimmer/edger has many features, and some are “hidden” – that is, it’s not obvious how to use them. The manual has a bunch of cryptic illustrations attempting to show how things work. There are some words, referring back to the pictures, but they’re not helpful. I actually had to watch some Youtube videos to figure out how things work.
I would recommend this to a friend!
