under powered for real yard work

I have nearly every tool works makes, so I'm far from an unsatisfied customer of WORX products
However - Perhaps I'm missing something on the Worx Leaf shredder but this is the biggest waste of effort!!. I recently purchased (well a few months back) and I spend more time cleaning out the hopper, replacing the string, and fiddling with keeping the unit running than actually clearing my yard of all the leaves.
What am i missing here? Why did this thing get high reviews? The "weed eater" string seems so pitifully under sized that it is melting away after only a couple of bags of oak leaves.
If anything is out of the narrow window of functionality of this unit, it completely loses it's usefulness. As careful as i am, if there is the slightest moisture in the leaves, the hopper becomes clogged, if there are any random twigs, then that only accelerates the issue of the string wearing out sooner.

It seems WORXs missed the mark with this thing.

We recommend getting new replacement line is made of a biodegradable material so that it easily breaks down without impacting the environment. This makes the line very delicate in extreme temperatures.

No more leaf overload!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was one of the greatest gifts I've ever given myself. I live on a tree filled 1 acre lot and spend DAYS AND DAYS raking every year... there isn't enough space to pile all of the leaves I rake, so they pile up under the trees along the tree line around the border of my yard... anywhere I can pile them so they aren't on the lawn... and some years I leave them on the lawn. I can't wait to show the leaves they no longer rule my life!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very disappointing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have many Worx tools , all very high quality and very satisfied , this is the first worx tool that I have purchased that is extremely disappointing . It is nothing more than a weed wacker upside down , to mulch leaves .. it will only take dry leaves only , no stems , no branches, no sticks of any kind can be mixed in the leaves , so you almost have to separate each leaf , the nylon weed wacker strings break and wear down in seconds , you have to constantly replace then every few minutes . Sorry Worx , did not like this item and you need a drastic redesign of this product .. However Worx does Guareenteed return. They are a good company .. Feeling disappointed !
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great tool. Certain to reduce the number of bagged leaves that have to be taken down to the curb for pickup. Absolutely will make my yard and the surrounding neighborhood look better by reducing the amount of leaves blowing around. Easy assembly and use. Would recommend strongly.

Great for Its Price

In the first few hours of mulching, I was able to get 8 full plastic bags worth of pulverized leaves and cleared out a pretty decent portion of my backyard. For the relatively low price of this mulcher, it does really well! My only real complaint seems to align with many other customers - the strings don't last that long. A pair of strings seems to last for four bags worth of leaves. Replacing them is easy enough. My question though is, why can't Worx produce metal strings of the same diameter and flexibility? It's easy enough to produce!

The best mulcher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using my worx 13 amp mulcher for four years. Today I mulched a 9' x 7' 3' high of packed leaves. I ended up with 5 bags 22" high. The shredder string wore 1" off so I can keep shredding more. 5 star unit!

Easy to order, delivery was great, good price....except the device would not mulch the small branches in my leaves. Did a great job on just leaves, although a bit messy. I will stick to grinding things with the lawn mower.

I was tired of the yearly task of bagging leaves from the trees in our yard. The Worx mulcher dramatically reduced the number of bags and the unit was very easy to use.
