WOW, what a machine. Purchased last Fall and mulched front and back yard into a fraction of the leaf piles. Large opening accepts leaves and breaks up small twigs. Saved me hours of bagging piles of leaves. Wish I'd had this years ago. looking forward to easy yard cleanup this year again.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Design needs tweaking

I have owned a Worx WG430 leaf mulching machine for two years now. While I am impressed by the overall quality, I have three issues. First, the machine in my opinion does not shed the leaves finely enough - why not slightly narrow the slits that allow the shredded leaves to drop down into the collection bag?
Secondly, in order to clean the air filter, it is necessary to completely remove the plastic motor shroud which is held in place by six screws. This is inconvenient when the amount of leaves to be mulched is large. Plus, regardless of the size of the job, it does not take long for the air filter to get clogged. Why not modify the shroud so that the filter end can be flipped down for easy cleaning, or at least change from screw fasteners to a clip system, similar to the clips that hold the funnel to the motor housing?
Thirdly, the instructions for cleaning the air filter say "Follow instructions for replacing cutting lines and for cleaning air filter.....". My question is - what instructions? There are none.
It's a good machine - but it could be better.

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions for the WG430 Leaf Mulcher. I have forwarded that information to the appropriate department.
To clean the air filter, the instruction are listed below:
To clean the leaf mulcher: • Unplug the unit. • Once the unit is unplugged, remove the unit from the stand and flip it so the cutting head faces the ground. • Remove the six screws from the sides of the motor cover. They are located on the outside edges of the motor cover. • The filter is located flush against the power switch. It can be removed and cleaned. • When replacing the motor casing, squeeze the casing inward slightly to allow the casing to lock back in place. • Reinsert the six screws and tighten.

Works well but consumable parts are unavailable

Works well enough but when the motor brushes wore out, we found out that WORX does not offer replacement parts for anything they sell. So a perfectly good, usable product is trash because a consumable part - motor brushes - wore out. Not likely I will buy one of their products again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I apologize for the issue you are having locating spare parts. We offer replacement parts for our units; some parts however are not replaceable. Anything concerning the motor that requires personally disassembling the tool is not replaceable since it would void the warranty.

Having read the reviews, I chose this mulcher shredder for my raked leaves. Using the recommendations of others and the guide, I used only dry leaves (which included some very small twigs.) The shredder worked great (and quickly) turn the leaves to mulch that's now on my garden beds. I was able to fill the funnel with leaves and run them through successfully; didn't need to do the "one handful at a time" others recommended. Now I just need more leaves!
Every Fall I fill bag after bag of leaves & the City hauls them away. With this machine I can turn the leaves into my own garden mulch. It does leaves - not sticks, so separating is important if you have that problem, but boy does it turn dry leaves into a nice mulch. It will do small amounts of damp material, but it tends to become a paste in the shoot, so wait & gather the dry stuff. It is a bit loud, but really no more than your standard leaf blower. Just don't expect this to be a chipper - thats another category all-together. I am thrilled with how it does for its intended purpose!
I have lots of trees and attempted to purchase this machine last year, however there were non available from 'any' source. Got one two weeks ago. Much faster than using the Worx Blower/Vac-Mulcher. It will mulch as fast as you can dump leaves in the hopper. The use of trimmer line over blade type tools makes this a safer machine for fingers but does not diminish its voracious appetite for leaves. I still use my Worx Blower/Vac for final cleanup. The trimmer line is simple to change and unless you throw a lot of small twigs and sticks, one set of 2 lines will hold up through more than one use. This machine is well built, sturdy, as with all Worx tools I have purchased, and breaks down and stores within itself, very compact. I highly recommend this mulcher over any other I have seen on the market. I also own a gas powered mulcher/chipper and prefer this tool for mulching.

Once we found we could mulch all the gardens with this great tool, we found we had to ask the grandchildren and their parents to help us finish all the cutting and mulching. with all the Spring trimming we were doing. Yard is looking great and saved on buying mulch.

I have blown two WORX blowers/vacuum/mulchers, first one had a round tube end and the second, the square end. Both had a hard time picking up pecan leaves because of the tiny pecan twigs. This mulcher works much better, only problem is raking and picking up the leaves now. The plastic twine/cutting cables could be a little longer and maybe having the stand poles with locking wheels might be helpful.
