[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just purchased, after a long debate the Worx-13 Amp Electric Leaf Mulcher. WHAT A MACHINE! I can't tell you what a blessing this mulcher has been, our yard has at least 14 mature trees. As much as I love the shade the chore of racking and bagging is not one of their advantages. Now, less time and I have an abundance of leave mulch to benefit the whole yard. My garden club is jealous, and I highly recommend this product !

That's how long it lasted. Works great on totally dry leaves and grass but you had better sift through them to make sure there are no wet leaves or twigs in your pile of leaves. On day 2, twigs and some wet leaves apparently caused the PLASTIC screw that holds the string head on, to MELT. you are done at that point. Don't know if you can get replacement parts because we got a replacement mulcher that was NOT a Worx tool.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worx is the simplest and most powerful

I have a worx and a similar green competitor leaf shredder. I like them both but the green one’s motor only lasted two seasons and then fried. The Worx is still going strong. It is also so much easier to change plastic bags- take shredder off of the stand then slide on a new bag and pop the shredder back on. It takes about 10 seconds. Much faster than pushing the bag through the cords on the side of the green shredder.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OK, I purchased the WG430 and was a bit skeptical until I plugged it in....Holy S--t this is one bad butt machine, I took care of a massive leaf pile in about 20 minutes, using the Flowtron I'm sure would have taken an hour....I like the job it does on the leaves, pulverizes them to a fine texture for easy packing into bags or rollaway....I did make a modification to have it support the .095 monofilimant weed eater line that other stuff is a bit wimpy...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking to buy a muncher for some time now and read other reviews but was not sue if it could handle oak leave and wet leave as the other reviews left me concerned. But I pulled the trigger because I was tired of hauling 40 to 50 bags of leaves every year. But I can report this mulcher works great and handle everything l put in it. The only thing I would change is to make the mulcher a two stage it I believe cut down on clogs

Works Wonderfully

I had my doubts about this mulcher but I am totally pleased with the results! I was worried about some reviews I read about it not being able to handle small sticks or wet leaves. Some of the sticks that accidentally got in would just slip through the machine and fall out. Some of the sticks were cut up. Wet leaves were mulched up very nicely. I now use the mulched leaves around landscaped areas and for attracting earthworms. My koi fish love earthworms!

This shredder works great. Here's some tips.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I also own the Worx leaf blower/vac, which works very well, but I really needed something that would handle mass quantities of leaves. Bought it immediately when I saw it online. I was not disappointed! Easy to assemble and easy to disassemble and store. This shredder does exactly what they say it does. I was able to fill eight 55 gallon bags with finely shredded, tightly packed material in about 3 hours (that's included raking the leaves into a container to take to the shredder). TIP #1: Use a lightweight, rigid container to load the leaves into the shredder. I have two 26 gallon collapsible leaf bins that worked great. The key is to hold the bin like you're dumping it into the shredder, BUT DON'T DUMP. Pull the leaves out in big handfuls, don't rush. You'll get better shredding results in the same amount of time and you'll extend the life of the trimmer line so you don't have to replace it as often. Plus, it gives you a chance to pull sticks out of the leaves. This is important because it saves the trimmer line. TIP #2: If you have wet leaves, slow down loading it into the shredder. It still works well, but doesn't shred as finely. Also keep a putty knife handy, because after several bags are shredded, you'll get a buildup of material sticking to the sides and the opening in the bottom, a lot like the stuff that builds up under your mower deck. A quick scrape and it's gone. TIP #3: I highly recommend you use your own bulk trimmer line and cut it to fit. 0.96 size seems to be the best choice. I tried regular, star shaped and braided line. The star seemed to last longer, even over the professional braided line. Just use the line that comes with the shredder as a gauge. Spend 5 minutes cutting lengths of line, maybe 20-30 pieces, and put them in your pocket. It's obvious when a line breaks. (You can hear it. The sound of the shredder changes.) You'll be changing line several times, but it's very easy and quick. Just thread a new piece through the shredder head, pull the ends down through the big hole and you're ready to go again. No sweat.
I hope these tips help. This shredder has worked great for me and has drastically cut down the time I spend dealing with the mountains of leaves in my yard.
