Storage drawer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love it. Only issue was the storage drawer was sticking and off track. Removed the drawer and the track. The track was not moving. Adjusted the track to keep it from sticking. Reassembled and now it works perfectly.

Horrible design

When using the oven, the cooktop and metal at the top of the oven gets extremely hot to the touch. I measured it over 130° during one baking session. According to GE, this is normal as the heat vents out right behind the oven handle. They consider the entire top of the range to be cooktop, and thus can get heated when using the oven. I consider this extremely dangerous and cannot believe they would design a unit to get so hot as to burn the consumer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We do see that you got one of our technicians out for diagnostics. Thank you for working with us. It can be normal to notice the cooktop become warm during use of the oven, due to the vents being located near the control panel. We recommend making sure no pots, tea kettles, or other items are blocking the vent. If you have any additional questions, feel free to respond to the email from your previous agent.

Serves it’s purpose

This is very similar to our old unit (made by Kenmore). It has more of a variety of burners, two with double rings. It’s taken me a while to get used to the dials that control the burners. It is not as “fingerprint free” as I had hoped. The cook top
constantly has smudges that I try to wipe off with a towel. The inside of the oven had what looked like fiberglass fibers on the inside. It was a chore
trying to wipe it out with a damp cloth. When first
turning on the oven, it had a terrible odor-
requiring all windows open and fans on. So far the
oven seems to cook food evenly. I have not yet
tried the air fry feature, but am eager to do so. Our
installer advised us not to register for the smart
oven feature- as it will only lead to more opportunities for problems and repair. It looks
attractive, but I don’t like the matte finish on the
clock panel ( it looks like cheap plastic that won’t
hold up ), nor do I like the bright white digital
display. Our older unit’s digital display was much
easier on the eyes. On the black/stainless model, I would have preferred a black outer rim on the cooktop, the gray seems out of place (the interior and top are black).
