Not as I expected

I bought this last fall and I have used it 6 times this winter. It is adequate for light snow removal, but I am very disappointed. I assumed when it says battery share my other 20 volt batteries would work in my blower. I found out today they will not. The batteries that came with it are only giving me about 18 minutes of run time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Valued Customer! Thank you for taking the time and sharing your experience and review with us. It's unfortunate to learn that your previous 20v batteries are not working in the snow blower. All of the current Worx tools now use 20v batteries. However, for the snow blower and 40v tools, we recommend using the 20v 4.0Ah batteries or higher amperage 20v batteries. This will provide more power and an increase in runtime performance.

When it works, it works, having trouble turn it on

I just want to list want is troubling me. Fully charged battery, after 3-5 minutes working, it is hard to turn it on or show down once it hits the snow even though battery indicator still has 3 bars. Frustrated when this happens.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

All I have to say is that it was absolutely fantastic, would highly recommend,could not be more happier with the product! I have several Worx tools,all great!

Good, but some issues

I bought this snow thrower a month ago and have used it twice so far for decent size snowfall. It was fairly easy to assemble and it’s fairly light and easy to maneuver. Starts up east and got down close to the surface. The two major complaints are the two batteries needed to run it lose power too quickly. It lasted about 20 minutes. Worx should have included two more batteries at no extra charge. That way you can switch out the dead ones with the other two charges ones while the dead ones are being recharged. The second complaint is that the chute that directs the snow away is not constructed well enough. Instead of a tight, compact flume of snow coming out it’s more like a scattered spray and that causes problems when trying to direct carefully Away from the area being snow removed and next door neighbor areas. I don’t know why that it wasn’t made more narrower or tested more because it’s obvious that the snow comes out all over the place and it’s a problem.

Good for what it is

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this "open box" for a little more than the cost of two new batteries. Almost like getting the snow blower for free. I wanted the two batteries for the worx lawn mower, and am glad I have the extra set. Now I have two sets of batteries for running the lawn mower and the snow blower. First of all, the WG471 is NOT going to chew through 12 inches of snow. It won't replace your 2-stage snow blower. It could possibly replace the smaller single stage snow blowers. But, that is what I need most of the time. The nuisance 2-4" snow fall. Hopefully it will handle that with two sets of batteries, and is not one of the duds that quits after 5 minutes. If I need it to run more than 30 minutes, it is likely too big a snow fall for this one. Worx does need to work on making the handles fold easier for storage (snow blower and lawn mower). Chute is hard to turn with the handle.

So So Performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well, as much as I once believed in a battery powered snow blower…I no longer. We had fresh pow with about 4” of the white stuff. Our driveway is average as well as the sidewalks. Anyway, unit died about a 1/3 of the way through. Had to stop and charge it to full capacity on both batts and once again got about 15mins of run time. If the batts would charge faster than 90mins I might not have returned it today for a gas type.
I liked the fact I could exchange the batts with my worx drill, which works great, but now I’m back to using the batts for just the drill. If worx offered a 80v model, I might have also reconsidered?
On the positive note, when the unit was running it did throw snow as advertised and it’s light and easy to transport. Believe the lights should be removed or have a way to turn them off to conserve juice.
Anyway, please spend a bit more time developing a new model that can cut through wet snow as well. Battery powered items have a place in our future.

The snowblower is average to run 15-20 minutes before going through another complete charge cycle. We recommend allowing the batteries to charge for the entire 2 hours.
We advise that you snow blow during or right after a snowfall for optimum performance. To turn on the light, press and hold the lock-off button with one hand. With the other hand, squeeze the operating bail towards the upper handle. When you release the operating bail, the light will be off. LED lighting increases visibility excellent for the dark or enclosed area.

I would like to Thank WORX and Mr. Mills from their problem solution dept. I posted a review a few weeks ago as "Very Disappointed" with the snow blower I purchased. Mr. Mills responded immediately to see what could be done. Not expecting such a terrific gesture, I received an e-mail letting me know there was a new snow blower on it's way and a pre paid label to return my product. I just finished using my new blower in about six inches of snow and it works Great just like all the other WORX tools I have purchased. Thank you for your exceptional customer service and restoring my faith in a good quality company!!
