It is a very safe chain saw and works well for moderately thick branches. Makes getting rid of the branches much easier than a lopper or a saw.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] THIS SAW IS GREAT I BOUGHT IT FOR SMALLER LIMBS SO I WOULDNT HAVE TO DRAG OUT MY GAS POWERED 20 CHAINSAW. I WAS SURPRISED BY HOW GOOD OF A JOB IT DID. I WILL AND HAVE TOLD ANYBODY THAT IS USING A CHAINSAW ABOUT THIS ONE

Poor design, no power, unable to complete tasks.

I bought this saw to cut back some of the thin trees to make a path to the river. The saw has hardly any power and the chain continued to come off in the middle of a cut. This was especially frustrating when the tree diameter was less than 3 1/2 inches. I am returning it immediately.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Jawsaw is great the extension pole not so much

got one of these to trim my Japanese Maples. The saw itself is a 5 star. Easy to use not that heavy, and cuts really well. However the pole extension is another story. First the connection to the main saw is very bad, A piece of aluminum that is flanged goes into a slot on the main saw, then needs to be bent back to fasten the control box. It's okay if you never intend on taking the pole off, but I took the pole off twice and put it back on and the aluminum tab started to show signs of breaking,,,,with just two times. I put Gorilla tape around it to be safe. Second thing wrong is the weight. Just the saw is very easy with the pole way to much top weight especially if your trying to reach a very high branch. Some places I needed a ladder to reach where I wanted to cut and it got pretty hairy. Needs to be a better weight distribution going on. So all in all the saw gets a five star the pole about a two star. I would recommend this to someone who can handle the weight problem but not someone, say an elderly person who watches the factory videos and thinks it will work that way.

I bought this just a short time ago with the extension pole. Trimming the high dead branches from a ladder was awkward and to me not safe with a chain saw. The JawSaw made short work of those hard to get branches safely. Also used it to clean up a pile of branches that had fallen off other trees during storms. Now I have a nice pile of kindling and several fireplace sized logs.
