I like Worx products and was excited to try this mower. After using it for 6 months, I can say it has a few good features and many bad features. I would not purchase it again.
The Good: Nice sturdy deck and great storage design. Wheels are nice quality as well as making height adjustments. The bagger seems to be well made, but I have never used it.
The Bad: Awkard handle design with 2 opposing bails makes the self propel feature a nuisance. Everthing has to be timed perfect to release the bail before turning to be able to "free wheel" the back wheels for tight turn (think going back in forth in a fenced yard), all the while holding in the blade engage bail. It is a very cumbersome design only suited for highly coordinated people. The auto sense feature is terrible it usually speeds up after you pass through a thick clump of grass. A simple manual boost button/blade throttle would have suficied. The battery life is not great, I have a small yard (4500 ftsq) if I self propel they are near spent, I push it 99% of the time (as mentioned) and have 2 bars left of 5. The organge break down handle releases are beyond terrible and catch on numerous things in tight quarters, such as fencing, gutters, walls etc. (did any Worx designers actually even test this?) Lastly the cut is only so-so at best, It does not have the suction of gas mower and it shows in the quality of the cut. I think if they had a higher RPM motor and a bigger battery bank it could have competed. I will use this mower until it needs to be replaced but it will not be with a Worx, and I have numerous tools from them and for the most part all of them great. One other thing is the blade, it is light weight and needs to be sharpened way more than a gas unit to have any hope of acheiving a half decent cut. Lastly where is the Manual??? Come on Worxs I expected better from you on this.

I bought this a couple weeks ago to replace an electric mower that needed a cord. What freedom! I’m 76 years old and the speed for extra power is perfect. The directions were not explained well to lower the main bar in order to begin using it. I think that should be picture displayed. I have several worx products, and they make my yard work a lot easier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the 40v 21" cut self propelled lawn mower. I have just a third of an acre to cut. This lawnmower is fantastic. Two 20v batteries with enough power to get the job done very well. This mower cuts just as good as my gas mower. The only down side is you shouldn't cut the grass when its wet and if you use the self propelled function the batteries will deplete much faster. Its desirable to get a set of spare batteries if your doing a large yard.

Overall A Decent Mower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace my gas mower and because I already had two Worx tools and batteries. Opening it up, the box looked a little beat up. Locking the handle, one side is a little difficult to get to lock, it's the same side the box was beat up on so it could be due to the shipping and not manufacturing. Easy to get ready to use. I have a good sized yard and mostly flat. On my first use, I started with side discharge, a higher cut, power up higher and using self propelled a lot. Got maybe a third of it done before batteries were "drained".
Used the two batteries from my jaw saw and string trimmer next, not as powerful as the batteries that come with the mower. But I set the mower at the lowest power and only used self propelled when really needed. Got almost a third of the yard done that way.
Finished with the recharged mower batteries, this time low power, self propelled only when really needed. Finished the yard and used those batteries with the jaw saw to cut some branches and use the string trimmer to finish the yard.
If I had a bigger yard and needed to use the self propelled a lot, I don't know if I would recommend it. For me, now knowing it's limits, it's good. I invested in another set of batteries (same size as what came with the mower) so I can mow the whole yard pretty much without having to wait for recharges.
As far as cutting, it does a very nice job. Very quiet compared to my old gas self propelled mower. Like that it stores standing up. Feels sturdy yet not too heavy.

Hesitant - but now convinced!

I was a little worried a battery operated lawn mower wouldn't have enough power to cut through my thick grass. After using the 40v Nitro Cordless several times now, I can attest it rips through the grass as easy as my former stinky, loud and heavy lawn mower.
40v has been more than enough battery power to finish my small yard.
The unit is so light I've been pushing it instead of relying on the self-propelled feature - which works fine, by the way.
Finally, the fold up and store feature has been a big win for me and my already cramped garage.
