I had a ten year old well used Genesis that I was ready to replace. It served me well so it was an easy decision to stay with Webber. So many of my friends had switched to griddles but I love an actual grill and don’t have space for both, not to mention the extra cost. So, I opted for a model that offered a full griddle insert and I couldn’t be happier. Both functions work great and switching them out is a breeze.
After iwning the previius version of this BBQ for many yeara, I am disappointed with the new version. It's difficult to light and seems to go into bypass mode regularly. Also, the wiring and connections under the shelves are needlessly exposed to the elements. A simple panel would protect them.

We appreciate your feedback. So sorry to hear your grill keeps going into bypass. We would suggest checking for gas leaks with soapy water and also following the bypass instructions.
Regarding the igniter wires being exposed they are made to withstand the elements.

I liked my old Weber more. It was a lower grade Weber, but had a propane level indicator. The “stainless” steel on this new one is already showing surface issues.

Your feedback is very important to us. We are so sorry to hear you are having an issue with the surface showing signs of rust. Happy to help with that.
If your grill is located in a humid area, or if chlorine is present in your environment, additional maintenance will be needed to keep up the appearance of the exterior steel parts.
Also, below are a couple helpful tips.
At the first sign of staining/discoloration/surface rust we would recommend cleaning with stainless steel cleaner (ex. Bar Keepers Friend). Once cleaned, we recommend using a stainless steel polish (ex. Weber's brand) to keep it looking its best in-between cleanings.
Once a week we would recommend wiping down the grill with a wet towel or rag and then drying completely.
We would only recommend covering your grill if you know inclement weather is coming.
The quicker you get at a stain the easier it will be to clean off.

It’s a nice looking and sturdy bbq. A bit overpriced for what you get but works very well..
I would recommend this to a friend!

We like the grill, but we don't like the grill. The open portion of the sides allow too much air in, keeping the temperature down, and allowing our dog access to the drip tray and start button wires. No good. Louvered sides would be better.
A propane level indicator, like a hanger would be an improvement as well. I had to purchase a valve type indicator, just an added expense that Weber could and should have easily addressed.
All of the stainless steel in the grill is very nice, and easy to clean. It is an attractive grill and it does cook well once you manage the temperature issues mentioned earlier in this review. Weber has done and can do better, for the money one spends one one of these grills.

Thank you for your feedback and for choosing a Weber grill! We apologize for the inconvenience. Your grill should easily reach 500F, which is hot enough to cook and sear.
If your grill is not getting to that temperature, there are a few things to check. Let's start with the easy stuff:
1.) Please make sure you consider "High" on your control knobs to be the first spot to your left (the 9:00 position). The further you go to the right the lower the temperature will be and all the way to the right is low.
2.) Please make sure you're always cooking with the lid down except when flipping the food halfway. The second you open the lid the heat escapes, and you'll need to close it to let the temperature recover.
3.) It sounds like your grill may be in a safety mode known as “bypass." What’s happening is that the regulator thinks there’s a gas leak, so it reduces the pressure.
Perform a soapy water leak test to check for leaks. If there is no leak, follow these instructions to reset the bypass safety mode. This is not only the reset, but how you want to light your grill each and every time.
Open the lid Make sure all knobs are in the off position Turn your LP tank on all the way Wait 60 seconds Turn the first burner to start/high Hit your igniter Turn on remaining burners one at a time and set each to high Close the lid Let your grill preheat to 500-550°F

Very well made grill! Packaged beautifully easy to understand assembly instructions and it was simple to put together by myself. ( I have a hoist for the heavy lifting).
This grill has the same quality and updated features I have come to expect after 40 years of owning Weber Grills. Really like the slide out drip tray on this model. Job well done Weber
