A "Full Service" grill!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm very happy with my inaugural run with the Genesis grill from Weber. I grilled a large batch of chicken (skin-on and skinless) to learn how to cook with off-set cooking, using heat from the empty side of the grill to cook the chicken on the side without direct heat. I was happy with the results and I am looking forward to trying out many other new grilling recipes. I am looking forward to searing some beef steaks on the "sear zone" side of the grill (on the right side) where high-temperature output should put a nice sear on my steaks without changing the nice medium-rare final cook that I love. I did also grill some sweet potato fries and I must say that I love the grill grate design as it provides a great cooking surface while also minimizing the chance that you'll have thin items (fries and asparagus spears) dropping down into the heating elements.
Would have received 5 stars but the lack of a tank scale and the loose fit and poor design of the black side storage panel took away a star. I have been a Weber customer for years and the quality and customer service are both solid. The side storage compartment isnt up to their standards.

I replaced my Genesis II after many years of service. It was still in great shape, but it went to a rental and got a new Genesis S-335 for myself. It has the same great Weber performance with enhancements that make it even better. The side table has a greater area. The warming rack is more versatile, it can be put in a vertical position when not used. The igniter is more robust and the battery is in a more protected location. The grates include one that facilitates using a wok. There is a side storage area included with a pad to protect the bottom from damage. The casters are more robust and the wheel locks are easier to use. I assembled it myself using the Bilt web site. Wow. What a great tool to put the grill together. As a retired engineer, I can say that this is a quality product that I enjoy using almost every day.

Everything about my new Genesis grill is an upgrade from the Spirit it replaced. Bigger cooking surface, more available options like a flat iron option that I purchased. With an option to add the propane tank scale, this unit is now better all around.
I like this thing alot. Starts easily. Good size for small to medium size family. The only thing that is concerning is the stainless steel; a magnet will attach, which is indicative of less nickle in the alloy. I hope it holds up as well as the 15 yr old Genesis it replaces

Your feedback means a lot to us. We are very sorry to hear about your grill not getting hot. We are here to help.
It sounds like you may be activating a safety device built into the regulator. This safety device is a component of all LP gas regulators and is designed to reduce the flow of gas in the event of a leak.
You can inadvertently activate the safety device without having a gas leak. Typically, this occurs if you do not wait a sufficient time between opening the tank valve and the burner control knobs or if one or more of the burner control knobs is in an open position when opening the LP tank valve. When the safety device has been activated the grill is referred to as being in “bypass”.
Keep in mind that the safety device reacts to gas leaks. If a grill is in bypass, the gas connections and hose should be tested for leaks with a soap and water solution.
If you do activate the gas regulator safety device, the grill may struggle to reach high temperatures or may not light at all, even with all burners on the START/HIGH setting.
To ensure that you are not inadvertently activating the safety device as you turn on the grill, please use the following procedure: Turn all burner control knobs to OFF, including the side burner control knob if present. Visually confirm all burners are extinguished (no flame present) Make sure the grill lid is open. Open the LP tank valve and then wait at least 60 seconds. This will allow the hose and regulator to pressurize. Turn the appropriate burner control knob for your model grill to the START/HIGH position and then ignite the grill by pushing the ignition button. Turn each of the other burner control knobs to high, one at a time, and press the igniter button (if applicable for your model). Repeat this process until all the burners have been lit. Close the grill lid. The grill should reach approximately 500 to 550 degrees in 10-15 minutes. When you are done grilling: Turn all burner control knobs to the OFF position Turn off the LP tank valve last.
