Griddle insert not compatible with spirit e310

I recently purchased a Spirit e310 grill. I was excited to purchase the grill as I saw that Weber had griddle inserts, essentially making this a two-in-one setup. I purchased the griddle inserts, which had a great deal only to find that it doesn’t fit the grill. As you read the packaging it states that the griddle fits spirit 300 series grills. This appears misleading as my grill is a 300 series yet the griddle insert is too large.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this insert, I really do! But.... Grease management!! If you do not clean out your grill after a bunch of smash burgers, expect a nice grease fire! If Weber can develop a better grease management system for this insert it would be beyond awesome! But again, this thing is great! I have cooked so many things on this insert. Rice dishes, English muffins, chopped cheese, pizza's, Philly cheese steaks....etc!!! You cannot go wrong with this insert and you will not regret it. But please, grease management!!! We bought the Weber brand griddle and a knock-off brand hoping a cheaper one would be the same or close to the Weber brand. There was no comparison. We sent the knock-off back. The Weber was by far better quality and fit our grill perfectly. We’ve used it several times and love making eggs & bacon, veggies & meat & all sorts of things on it. Love it!

This griddle is strong enough to be used in a commercial kitchen. Fits perfectly, heats up quickly, easy to clean and the food tastes great and presents beautifully. I find myself using my grill twice as much as ever.

I would have expected better

Fits nicely on my Weber Spirit E425, but I feel the griddle doesn't get hot enough unless you turn on all four burners on high, many times I only need half the space so it sucks im required to waste gas to use this properly.
Not only that, the opening at the top for grease is in an awful location and gets grease allover the burners and corner ledges instead of letting it fall down the way it should. The buildup is pretty ridiculous. At this price, it's not really acceptable and you may have better luck with a third party insert.

The new griddle fits my Genesis well. It’s thoughtfully designed & well made. Seasoning it was easy. My first several times cooking on my new griddle have been very tasty learning experiences.
