Game Changer For Your Grill

I purchased this about 9 months ago and am very happy I did! I have tried a number of ways to incorporate griddles into the mix and this is by far the best. It all started when I got the chance to use a BlackStone griddle a number of years ago and really liked it. I considered buying one in addition to my Weber, but didn't really want to take up more deck space. My first attempt to bridge the gap was to purchase Weber's griddle insert that lets you remove one grill grate and drop in a griddle. That worked ok, but it's not a lot of griddle space and is heavy / awkward to swap out with the grate. That eventually led me to buy a steel griddle plate from another company that was meant to place on top of your grill. I used that for a couple of years and it did the job pretty well. You're supposed to take it off after you use it, wipe it down, and put it in a bag so it didn't rust. That's not very practical and was a pain, so I usually had to use a steel brush to clean up some rust before using (not super healthy and a pain). When I came across this full griddle replacement from Weber, I wasn't sure whether I should spend money on yet another try to replicate the griddle experience. I decided to go for it and could not be any happier! It works very well, does not rust, and I never go back to the steel grates. When people ask me why, this is what I say: There is nothing I can cook on the grates that I can't cook on my griddle, but there ARE things I can cook on my griddle that I can't cook on your grates! I do all the normal grilling of steaks, brats, burgers, etc. while also being able to do scrambled eggs, pancakes, pretend Huhot night, etc. It's great!
TIP: I didn't realize this until later, but you can actually set your original grill grates right on top of this griddle! Grill marks with no flair ups and the griddle basically acts as a huge flavorizer bar under your meat! You can put one of the grates over half the griddle and you increase your versatility. Have steak or burgers that you seared well on the griddle and just want them to cook a little more without possibly overdoing the outside of the meat? Slap your grill grate on one side and let the heat coming off the griddle cook them to your liking without any risk of burning them!
Great purchase and has really changed the game for how I grill and the options I have for making a great meal.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this griddle insert instead of a stand alone unit due to space restrictions I currently have. First off I'd like to say it cooks great and makes excellent food. My only gripe with it is the location where the grease dumps out. It's right in the corner of the grill and doesn't make it down to the grease trap creating a large amount of buildup very fast. I've had a few flare ups and this area is extremely difficult to clean with tight crevices. Would love to see the opening more towards the middle in the back where it could hopefully run down further.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback! We are thrilled to hear you love the food you can make on your griddle insert. However, we are surprised that the grease management system is not working as well as expected. We are sorry for the inconvenience!
We would like to offer our assistance and learn more about how the grease is collecting in the drip pan. Please look for an email outreach from our Care team. Thank you!
For my Genesis II I've always had a griddle on the left side and it has been used countless times but it was never big enough. I was recently to the point of just buying a dedicated griddle so I would have more room when I thought I'd check to see what Weber offered. To my surprise I found the full size griddle option for my Genesis II and it made my day. I love this thing. I've always been a Weber fan and I was very happy to find this option. The Griddle fits perfectly, takes up the entire surface, heats evenly, season's up really well and drains the grease in a convenient way! It's perfect! Thanks Weber!
We are very happy with this purchase ! Easy to season and easy to clean. Once seasoned, the surface does not stick. We have been using a small amount of Avocado oil when cooking and it works perfect for the griddle. This item has completely expanded our outdoor cooking menu options. Worth the investment !
No need for a stand alone griddle. This griddle cooks steaks, fish, shrimp, potatoes, eggs, etc. perfectly. Seasoning the griddle was a snap. I used the Weber scraper for easy cleanup.
Took delivery of this about 3 weeks ago after it sat in my shopping cart for months in end. I’ve since cooked eggs, bacon, pancakes, hash browns, smash burger sliders and dogs. Not cheap, worth every penny. Weighs like 20lbs and built like a fortress. I seasoned 4 times before first use and I can already tell this thing will outlive me….so on-brand for Weber!
