Griddle insert not compatible with spirit e310

I recently purchased a Spirit e310 grill. I was excited to purchase the grill as I saw that Weber had griddle inserts, essentially making this a two-in-one setup. I purchased the griddle inserts, which had a great deal only to find that it doesn’t fit the grill. As you read the packaging it states that the griddle fits spirit 300 series grills. This appears misleading as my grill is a 300 series yet the griddle insert is too large.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

overall, good griddle, but the thought and engineering needs to be revisited. The area to push grease into is small, and odd shaped, so nothing works to push grease into the hole.
