Problems: 1) They are not the quality they were in the past. Some of the standard parts included with the purchase are not made in the U.S. Grill life nowhere near as long as it used to be. 2) The tank holder is no longer a scale to indicate the remaining propane in the tank.
Prices are higher for lower quality and no tank scale now. The new norm of corporations now.

I have been purchasing Weber grills exclusively for more than 30 years. Always stainless steel when available due to their durability and great functionality. This years model, however, which is only a few weeks old is already pitting on the SS shelves and they seem, to be of a lighter gauge that scratches easily compared to the prior versions.

This is my first Weber grill and so far I love it!!! Still “learning” about it: how fast is heats up, sensitivity of the dials to regulate temperature, etc., but overall I think I am going to like it a lot.
Do not hesitate to make the investment. I have owned many less costly grills over the last 25 years and this Weber Genesis is by far the best. Excellent build quality and the heat retention is second to none. I have cooked many meals on this already and the difference to the my past grills was immediate. Easy to light ... easy to regulate temperature ... food properly cooked without the past flare-ups. Not much else to say other than you get what you pay for.
