[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited when I received these earbuds and smart case combination. First, the buds are very comfortable to wear for long periods of listening to music and for listening to podcasts and videos on phone apps. They have multiple different fittings for the majority of different sized ears. They also have the same capabilities as other JBL buds to where you don't have to wear both at the same time which is great. The smart case is what sets these apart from competitors. I like how you can get notifications of text messages, emails, and calls. You can adjust the sound from the case and different listening styles. The case even comes with a find my earbud feature and a flashlight. It would be cool to be able to respond to messages with a simple preset response from the case and it appears that the case tells the time however only in military time, I haven't found a way to change that but maybe the JBL app can have an option to update. The sound quality is amazing and the size of the case is compact for them to fit in a pants pocket.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They’re great in the ear, perfect and very comfortable for everyday use. Battery is top notch. JBL’s trademark Bass and ANC are on par with its top competitors. The best part about these is the Sound of Silence mode in the app. Wow, it will just quite down the environment and you won’t hear a thing. Needles to say the best part is the display on the case. You can do many actions that you do on a smart watch or even on your phone. This is the first earphone case which always stays with me where ever I go. Totally in love with these beautiful earphones, totally worth the price.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The earphones are reproduce music wonderfully. The only issue I had was Fitment. The left fit perfect but the right did not fit just right. I tried all three rubber sizes but none helped. The phone calls with the earphones were nice also. Not major static like others I have used. The noise canceling feature is great. Ambient aware sounded like a tunnel which is not preferable. Talk through option was okay but seems to be real low volume.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The reason I agreed to review these earbuds is because I wanted to try something new. My current earbuds have a limited amount of battery power. Only four and a half hours of maximum playtime. Which is no where near enough for me. With these coming in at a whopping 10 hours maximum playtime, I was happy to try them out. I was also interested in the built-in touchscreen on the charging case. This feature I have never experienced, so I was excited. Right out of the box everything came completely charged. The earbuds and case were at 100%. This was impressive. Inside the box was the two earbuds, charging case, short usb-c charging cord (no power adapter), an additional set of small, medium and large size ear tips, & a quick start guide. Initially I connected the earbuds by way of going to my settings, then Bluetooth, then by pressing the button on the bottom I was able to connect them instantly. After that I installed the JBL app by way of the QR code inside the quick start guide. Then I opened the app and since I’d already connected them previously they were already displayed and connected. At this point the ear buds needed to be setup via the app. Which included, “check my best fit”, “ear canal test”, “voice assistant setup” and lastly, “product tips”. I was able to successfully go through these different setups very easily. The app has a multitude of different settings that outperform all others I have used. This case has a built in touch screen on the charging case, with a total of 14 menu items to choose from. And you are able to swipe through to view all of them separately. The display shows Bluetooth logo, L earpiece battery percentage, R earpiece battery percentage and overall case battery percentage and the time (military). Their overall fit was secure and each went easily into each ear canal with the original tip. I pressed play on the touchscreen and my music started playing immediately. Sound quality is superior. Better than all others I’ve owned previously. They also had amazing noise cancelling. I activated this easily by way of the touchscreen. I don’t plan on using the on-ear touch control on the outside of the earpiece. I find it difficult to remember how many “taps” for this or that. I can & will adjust these settings through the app or via the case touchscreen. In the near future I will be interested in purchasing a protective case. I searched online for this and they are available for purchase. My expectation for these earbuds was high. Having said that, they have exceeded my expectations and then some. Overall I am very pleased with their performance and available on screen settings. I truly love the extra-long battery life and built in touchscreen! JBL never disappoints. THANK YOU!
Not just a gimmick, the screen on the charging case comes in handy. I find myself reaching for it more than the connected device. These earbuds are reasonably clear. Keep that in mind, if you're looking for great sounding earbuds, consider what that means to you. They don't mask the recordings with tuning and tweaking as much as some. What you hear is closer to the true mixed and mastered recording than some may like. At the same time, if detail is priority, there are some high end audiophile options better suited for your taste. If something in the middle is what you're looking for, they are those kind of earbuds. Some equalizer adjustments to the preference of the listener really open these things up. They are somewhat responsive making it easy to overdo levels and mud things up so go easy. When operated within their range, they deliver an accurate enough representation. They may not tend to some that only appreciate music without regard for the art of sound engineering (which has become a decent portion of what makes great music great since recording music became a thing) Audiophiles looking for purity in clarity and depth can appreciate what these have to offer. Nerding out, though, will probably lead someone extensively knowledgeable to conclude that they are too hot. Thats why there's an EQ in the JBL app. TheBut, for people that know a little more than a little without being a snob about it, will have no complaints. The screen on the charging case, even if it were a gimmick, has been way more useful and convenient than i guessed. In conclusion, if you don't know the difference or don't care for their sound, then stick to the cheaper, lower level earbuds. The more casual listeners may find their clarity off putting. The audiophile snobs will never really be happy with any product in this price range. Lucky for me, I'm somewhere in the middle. They sound way better than the trinkets from the local grocery/department store while still being obtainable. And, they are produced by a known top notch brand, not a brand one can only be aware of by being in the pro audio industry. I definately consider them as a crossover product. Another few years, on top of the already 20 plus, of being JBL brand loyal
