No More Estimating And Good Brews Are A Default

The matte black finish is appealing and the precision measurement features are a necessity. The taring, timer, and water flow options are key to making a great cup of coffee. This scale is part of my daily grind.
Future kettle base and/or grinder base should have a usb-c to connect the scale for recharging.

My Perfect Scale!

The Tally Pro is exactly the scale I've been looking for. The "weight" and "timer" functions are just fine, but the real selling point is the "brew assist" mode. It's incredibly helpful to dial in your coffee:water ratio and weigh your freshly ground coffee without having to hit a specific weight (especially first thing in the morning!). The flexibility is just fantastic. I use the scale every morning and just love it. It may be on the pricey side but it's very well made and, as the old saying goes, "price is what you pay, value is what you get." For me, the price has been absolutely worth it.

Way better than expected!

Was reluctant to purchase for about 6 months, went on sale and I pulled the proverbial trigger. Don’t regret it for a second. Quick accurate response, wonderful tactile feel with buttons and knob. Kept the plastic on the gloss finish, as I’ve seen my buddies get scratched relatively easily. I don’t want to find out the hard way. Plus it measures in milliliter, love that as I make my own brew water mixture. I put a silicone mate on the plate to prevent scratches as well. Really solid product. Now probably my favorite in front of the Lunar, Pearl, DiFluid, and tied with the BooKoo (special).

Small but Mighty

This scale performs exceptionally well. I've used the brew assist feature most often and am able to make consistently good coffee as a result. I've also used it to measure ingredients for baking bread and for portioning all sorts of foodstuffs. I'm very happy with my purchase!

Good design, still doing math

Very nice design and function is simple enough once you get the hang of it. However, I feel like I was duped when Fellow says “No Math” in the description. The brew assist does let you know your water weight but it does not let you know your split times. And from what I’ve learned by watching a lot of Fellow videos to get that perfect pour you need to split it into three pours after bloom. I still need to calculate my bloom amount minus my total water weight divided by three. I will not be using brew assist for this reason. So I have to take two stars away from 5 to get three stars for the lack of transparency in marketing for a very decently designed product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ninja-like reflexes.

Like a well-trained ninja, the Fellow Tally Pro scale reacts instantly to weigh out beans, brewed coffee, or the tears of your adversaries.
Maybe it’s no coincidence that its all-black colour scheme is also the same as a ninja!
Either way, this long-awaited scale is an incredible addition to my brew bar. It truly does kick-butt.
Overall I like this for pour over quite a lot. A couple things I definitely don't like is that it shipped with a USC-C to USB-A cable. It's USB-C on the scale side and USB-A on the charging side. My computer has USB-C so I need to use an adapter, or just replace the entire cable. I realize this is for more compatibility with older systems and charging blocks, but it's the past sold in the present. Outdated.
The other thing I definitely absolutely hate is how Fellow lets you check on the charge level of this device. You see a battery indicator on he screen with no percentage and it shows and is gone in an instant, too fast to read, especially since you don't see a percentage. They also have an app for this but you can't simply open the app and read the current battery charge percentage. This seems incredibly poorly thought out and backward. I mean, it's 2024. Don't the designers actually use this stuff and see what the customer sees (or can't, in this case)?
The only other issue I've had as I've learned to use this is with pour over and the BREW ASSIST feature, you have to start the timer. It would be nice if when you pour water in and the scale registers the water weight change it starts the timer automatically. I've had it for a couple months now and noticed there didn't seem to be a way to start the timer and it wasn't starting automatically, and I only yesterday forced myself to review the BREW ASSIST video, and I could see the point where I'M supposed to start the timer myself.
Other than that, very nice for pour over in that your ground beans and water are based on a ratio you choose, so when you add the coffee, even if you miss your target weight be a little either side, the scale will automatically figure your water weight based on the ratio. That's literally the main reason to buy this scale. No more need to add a bean or two or take them away.
Since I got the Studio version of the kettle to match, I'm very happy with this purchase, and while some reviews say fingerprints are an issue, in my experience, unless you're shining a light right on it you don't notice this at all (I wish I could say the same for my end of 2023 black MacBook Pro, which shows fingerprints like mad even in just a little amount of time). I think Fellow did a nice job on this glassy top and it definitely adds a nice upscale look to the prodct and a nice contrast with the matte black elements.
One product Fellow should consider making for pour over is a stainless carafe that keeps pour over hot. I noticed with glass carafes when I go to all the trouble to make pour over it got cold too fast to fully enjoy. As a result, I bought the .6 liter version of the Alfi "Hotello" carafe and love that for pour over. Even though my Kalita stainless dripper doesn't sit perfectly flat on top of the Hotello, that hasn't posed any issues at all, and I can drink my pour over at my leisure without feeling rushed. The Hotello also has an ingenious lid with no rubber gaskets and no need for a pricey glass vacuum bottle inside that's prone to breaking easily, and yet it pours easily and keeps the coffee hot. (I use the 1 liter size with my Moccamaster coffee.) It was designed for waiters in hotels (hence the name) and I love the ingenious lid. It works great for pour over with this scale.

I was hesitant to buy this due to the high price, but it’s a game changer as far as pour overs are concerned. It works flawlessly and the brew assist mode is heaven sent! Well done Fellow!! Highly recommend!
