Best Scale Out There!

Considering that I have 3Acaia 1Barists & 1Hario scales, I find the Tally Pro the best of all my scales.

Good but over-priced for the function

The brew guide setting is nice but at its current price, Tally is missing several key features available on lower cost scales (i.e. Timemore) such as flow rate measurement and automatic timing function start upon weight change.

Great solidly built scale!

Really enjoy the precession of this scale. I love brew assist, but would like better workflow instructions to use this for different types of brew methods (drip, aeropress). I figured it out, but I wasted some good beans in the process. Not the products fault, but would like more video demonstrations.

Not just a scale

This scale... is not just a scale. The "pour over nerd standard" scale that I've been using for over two years is just a scale. THIS is something else entirely. When you want it to be just a scale... it is. And an awfully good one at that. When you want it to be more, it is. A lot more. Once you get used to it, one of the features that I appreciate the most is the water scale that increments while the pour over magic is happening... When it hits the ideal ratio (that you set) the weight in grams lights up with a very bright white background that you can easily see out of the corner of your eye. This is helpful because you're staring at the stream of water coming out of the kettle and not having to constantly eyeball the scale. Very handy feature indeed. On top of this and many more things I like about it, it also looks great and feels very well built, like everything else from Fellow. The only drawback, if there are any, is that I feel like it could easily get grumpy if I let it get too gummed up with coffee grounds and water drips. I get the feeling I'll have to be careful with it. Only time will tell! Definitely loving it so far and will take care as best I can.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Too expensive
on September 18, 2024

I’ll admit I bought this scale almost purely for aesthetics. I was hoping the brew assist feature would be a nice bonus, but I’ve given up on that and simply use it as a scale+timer. For that, there are quite a few cheaper options that are just as good.
Brew assist is hard to use because I weigh my beans before grinding. The scale the. Sits unused while I grind, but in order to set the coffee weight, I have to weigh them again after grinding. It’s counterintuitive, and if I do things in the wrong order, then I have to switch modes anyways. Not really much help.
I also think the buttons are counterintuitive. The dial is unnecessary, and long pressing to turn off is inconsistent with the fellow kettle, that just requires a single press to turn off.
It looks nice, but I expect more for such a high price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The ideal scale.

I've used laboratory grade scales with worse resolution and response time that cost ten times as much.
Great features, very fast response and tare time, and a great aesthetic to match. Fits the Stagg carafe perfectly as is the design but other carafes work well. Won't work for espresso unless you have a machine without a drip tray.
Clearly well built and thought out. The features are intuitive and simple to use. I especially like the box that is clearly designed to be kept and used when you move apartments, as the foam shims for under the scale table are solidly constructed and easy to put back. It's uncommon to have that kind of foresight in consumer goods.

Great scale and very accurate. Nothing more to add. The ultimate scale for any uses. Mu wife uses it to measure accurately ingredients to make breads and other pastries.

Worth every penny

Worth every penny. This brand makes incredibly thoughtful products. I’m never disappointed with my fellow purchases. I wanted a scale that had more precision than your average scale, but still had a high enough max weight that I could use it for baking. I debated between this and the Ooni scale. I like that this one had both the precision and high volume scales on the same platform. The brew assist and timer are also cool features. Especially when you get high end beans from fellow and the recommend a brew approach. It’s all very coffee geeky and fun. The max weight on the Ooni scale was a little bit higher at 6,000 grams vs 5,000 on this one.
