I’m not an expert brewer nor a seasoned coffee connoisseur, so don’t take my review too seriously. With that being said, I began my coffee journey about a year or so ago. Fellow products has been a companion since the beginning and I never felt disappointed in any of them. From the grinder to the kettles. I think over the time and with practice, I was able to get to a good brewing routine, but two things remained challenging; coffee to water ration, and timing. I used to weight my coffee then somewhat guess and visually assess how much water is needed while also trying to keep an eye on a timer. I think this scale has made it easier for me to weight my coffee, calculate the ratio, and time my brewing all at the same time and using the seem device. I’d say my morning cup of coffee went from being good to great since I started using this scale. I’d recommend it to anyone exploring ways to better their brewing methods and experience.
Excellent for pour overs and general use kitchen scale

As someone who has been on that kitchen scale game for years with a much less expensive rechargeable body, I was hoping to get something much more convenient for making pour overs and other high precision kitchen tasks. I would say this scale performs excellently.
There are 2 key things that really justify the product for me: automatic ratios and timing. Makes playing around and dialing in those variables fun instead of annoying like using my other scale with my phone as a calculator/timer.
One other thing I’ll note to help any prospective buyers is how I incorporate this into my workflow which took some getting used to…
1) Start boiling kettle of water 2) Measure beans on scale with ratio set 3) Grind beans - while water still boils 4) Place French press or Pour over carafe/filter on scale and tare the scale 5) Add funnel and add the ground beans 6) Remove funnel and check weight of beans /water seems right 7) Begin pouring in the water according to recipe

fantastic but could use a countdown timer

If you're like me, and don't want to mux around with math when making that first cup in the morning (or at all), then this scale is fantastic; as it takes all the arithmetic out of assessing your water to coffee ratios. The only disappointment I have is with the timer. It's fine, but I wish it had a countdown feature, that concluded in a subtle beep, for when I swap out the V60 for my full-immersion Clever. It just really annoys me to pull out yet another timer to do this. Otherwise, it's a small criticism for an otherwise fantastic device.

It looks really nice, but the controls are unintuitive and the the knob feels cheap.

Not Just for Making Good Coffee!

As someone who has never used a coffee scale before, the Tally is easy to work with and master. The Brew Assist is probably the coolest feature as it has improved my AeroPress experience, but the timer and precise weight functions are equally handy for non-brewing tasks. My only issue is the piano black gloss on the base of the scale that seems to scratch easily and is a terrible fingerprint magnet. Here’s hoping Fellow decides to release a matte black edition similar to the rest of their products.

Way better than expected!

Was reluctant to purchase for about 6 months, went on sale and I pulled the proverbial trigger. Don’t regret it for a second. Quick accurate response, wonderful tactile feel with buttons and knob. Kept the plastic on the gloss finish, as I’ve seen my buddies get scratched relatively easily. I don’t want to find out the hard way. Plus it measures in milliliter, love that as I make my own brew water mixture. I put a silicone mate on the plate to prevent scratches as well. Really solid product. Now probably my favorite in front of the Lunar, Pearl, DiFluid, and tied with the BooKoo (special).

Very happy with the scale

I bought this scale out of frustration with other pour-over scales I've owned. The Tally is very responsive, accurate, and has a very bright screen, which is awesome. Of the 3 features, I use Brew assist the most. The timer starts at first drip. Very nice. And no more exact weight required for brew ratio. Now that I have the scale, I realize how much of my routine was focused on the other scales, taring, timers, lagging target weight and dim screens.
