The brew guide setting is nice but at its current price, Tally is missing several key features available on lower cost scales (i.e. Timemore) such as flow rate measurement and automatic timing function start upon weight change.
Love the coffee ratio feature. Very sensitive scale but occasionally the numbers will just glitch a bit. Not enough to cause trouble during my pour but enough to make me wonder about the accuracy of it. The coffee ratio feature though changes everything for me. I can now switch between different techniques of making pour overs without too much fuss and I love it.
I absolutely love this scale. It is so accurate and reactive. The calculation ration coffee to water speeds up the process so you can be a gram or two over or under and still get the pour over flavor you like. I like it so much, I bought it as a gift for my son.
Very nice design and function is simple enough once you get the hang of it. However, I feel like I was duped when Fellow says “No Math” in the description. The brew assist does let you know your water weight but it does not let you know your split times. And from what I’ve learned by watching a lot of Fellow videos to get that perfect pour you need to split it into three pours after bloom. I still need to calculate my bloom amount minus my total water weight divided by three. I will not be using brew assist for this reason. So I have to take two stars away from 5 to get three stars for the lack of transparency in marketing for a very decently designed product.
Very good scale, fast and precise. That said, brew assist is a somewhat flawed feature — if you forget to tare the scale again after weighing your beans and wetting your filter but BEFORE adding your grounds, you’re out of luck for this brew. It’s surprising easy to forget and frustrating every time.
