Powerful Bike Computer w/ tons of options

The touch screen is excellent to navigate through the many options even in wet conditions and the side buttons help when wearing gloves. Once you learn where everything is, you can tailor it to what works best for you. Battery lasts a long time and return to starting point as direct route is such a great feature when your exploring new trails and ready to call it a day and grab a refreshing beverage.

GPS companies make great bike computers

I was using my Garmin Forerunner watches as a bike computer for many years. Having a dedicated biking computer is so much more efficient and safer. I no longer have to take my eyes off the road to try to make out what my watch is trying to display. Map display is clear and concise enough for any beginner as well as a seasoned veteran. It's an Edge 540 with touch screen, making that much easier to use.

Major Improvement over my 530

I struggled with navigation on my Garmin 530 for years, this new 840 does a great job and I do appreciate the functionality of the touch screen. I was skeptical of that at first...all the powerful features of the 1040 but in a smaller dimension.

I've had Garmin products for the past 15 years and this Garmin 840 is a massive improvement. With a combination of improved GPS technology to easy to navigate touch screens and buttons plus built in maps for every activity the unit is simply brilliant.

Excellent integration

I ordered the garmin 840 as I had previously used a garmin mk1 as my cycling computer. I switched to an Apple Watch instead and was finding the integration of the sensors I had on my bike to be possible not not as well integrated. After purchasing this computer, my watch stays at home and the integration with sensors is perfect. The mapping is also accurate enough that I have cleared my phone off my handlebars into my bag. This has really allowed me to streamline my setup while expanding my capabilities.
