So far so excellent!

So far, the 840 is proving to be an excellent bike computer. Setup using the Garmin Connect app on my phone was a doddle since I just transferred the settings from my 530. The new GUI is a great upgrade and is intuitive to use. I was hesitant about getting a bike computer with a touch screen, but so far the 840's touch screen has been brilliant, working perfectly in the rain. I haven't had to use the navigation features yet, but given how well my 530 navigated, I expect the 840 to work even better.

A must have for every techie. Edge 840 does everything anyone could want in a bike computer. Easy to read touch screen, it even automatically uploads your workout.

The Garmin Edge 840 is my first cycling computer. Prior to this I was using Garmin wrist watches. This is so much better and much more capable. I look forward to using more and more of the capabilities of the device.

So Far So good

I've had this for almost a month and so Far so Good, Im happy with it. Just got it a speed sensor and I feel more confident that the numbers are more accurate now. its a nice toy.

GPS companies make great bike computers

I was using my Garmin Forerunner watches as a bike computer for many years. Having a dedicated biking computer is so much more efficient and safer. I no longer have to take my eyes off the road to try to make out what my watch is trying to display. Map display is clear and concise enough for any beginner as well as a seasoned veteran. It's an Edge 540 with touch screen, making that much easier to use.

It takes a bit of muscle memory to operate this unit. I like the features if I could just remember them from the day before use of it! Could be a bit more intuitive, but it’s getting the job done!
