Strong set for 2024! Dunneee

This set is a great start to Lego 2024! The ornithopter looks exactly like what we see in the movie and the minifigure selection is on point! The wing movement, wing blade dive movement, and retractable landing gear are all great movement additions to this set. I would recommend this set to anyone, even if you haven’t read or seen Dune. This set is so cool and really sets the stage for great sets to come from Lego in 2024!!! 10/10

Love this set, it’s such an impressive melding of technic and system. I love the functionality, the building experience, and the final model.
My only complaint is that the new blades that make up the wings have an issue where they are bent and curve slightly. I think it’s an unavoidable issue due to the molding process or the packing of the element. But, I found an easy fix is to heat up the plastic with a hairdryer or something and stick the blades under some books to reshape them straight.
Would love to see more Dune sets, but if this is the only one we get, it’s far and away the best possible outcome.

Love, love, love this set. This 'thopter set is a pretty advanced build -- there is a TON of Technic in it -- but it was a lot of fun, taking about 5 hours to build. I love the amount of functionality -- flapping and retracting wings, operational landing gear and loading ramp, and working canopy. The look of the 'thopter is very film-accurate and it's great that it comes with 8 minifigures. Highly recommended for all fans of "Dune" or anyone else who just likes science fiction.

Difficult!

This set is kind of worth the price. You can buy bigger sets for the same money, but this one has most of the main characters and the ornithopter is insane. One thing I’ll say, this build didn’t take a day. It didn’t take two days. It took a few days of frustration; not every single step was on the page you kinda had to assume where stuff went, so a lot of the time I’d go to the next bag just to find out I did something wrong that I already built on top of. This is a very challenging set. Hope more sets are made for Dune!

AMAZING SET

This was so fun to build. I will say as your building the engine for how the wings move I questioned somethings, but in the end if you're following along with the booklet you'll be good. I highly recommend downloading the lego builder app for this and use the 3D model builder. It helps more than you think.

Awesome, nearly perfect

The build experience and the display aesthetic make this a must have for me. Only a few things are worth mentioning. First, there is a 2x3 plate (installed in step 15) that falls out when using the wings flapping lever. Second, the linkage for the wings folding mechanism (installed in step 155) can become dislodged requiring disassembly to reconnect, and the wings folding lever itself will not stay locked in the folded position. Third, when folding the wings, the wings will hit each other and require manual adjustment to allow them to fold completely. Aside from these three things it is a great looking set, and currently has a place front and center in my living room!

If only the wings would flap

Excellent set, an enjoyable build, but as others have reported, the wings will not flap. I don't believe I made an assembly error - the mechanism does not work as shown in online videos.
