A Win for Fans of Classic LEGO Pirates!

As a kid growing up with LEGO in the '80s and early '90s, Pirates were a massive part of that experience. I fondly recall looking through the LEGO catalog, seeing the set this modern build is based on, and dreaming of having it for myself. Now, over thirty years later, we return to Eldorado Fortress. With time, come changes. This set is no exception, but still manages to maintain all of the aspects that made the original so great! What a fantastic modern representation of a simpler time in LEGO's history! For those that have a love for the classic sets, but enjoy the increased detail and complexity of modern LEGO, this is an excellent set with a lot of pleasant surprises. It may not have quite as many play features as some sets in more contemporary themes, but with two ships, a working crane, eight minifigures, tons of weapons and accessories, a parrot, and a monkey, this set has plenty to keep kids busy. The modularity of the build makes it a fun play and display experience. to experiment with. The build process is fun, creative, and smart.

Definitely a blast, very massive, and well worth the purchase. I built a water diorama around the fortress to really bring it to life. I used Mod Podge and Toilet paper for the water and acrylic paint.

Challenging, Fun Set

My kids love playing with this one. Very interesting how it's designed, sort of modular where you can pull the various pieces apart and rearrange them for different ways to play. Definitely a few hidden secrets as well. More challenging than others in a few areas but nothing too complicated. Another terrific set!

This is an amazing set, I love the detail put into it of every wall, door, window and boat being built instead of using a single piece for certain elements like they used to. Brings back memories of the original set but with more detail. My son loved building it and was challenged just a bit by it even though I would consider him an expert builder already.

Thank you so much for your secret(nondescript) package. Grandkiddos get excited when a package arrives but you kept the sets secret. This kit will be a challenge for the 6yo but since he is a 3rd generation builder his biggest challenge is keeping the adults from helping.
