Wonderful Nostalgia with Challenging Updates

I had the original when I was younger and still have some of the pieces. So building the new version filled me with nostalgic joy while still incorporating new and challenging elements. This made for a very joyful and exciting build that is a beautiful set to display.

Would have liked more Minifigs, or maybe a way to get a battle pack type set to enhance this one.

Overall this was a fantastic build. The model looks fantastic and can. Be displayed in so many ways. All the hidden details are amazing and there is no part that stands out as it shouldn't belong. This set has improved on the original and yet stayed honest to its roots. Highly recommend for anyone.

Nostalgia to the Extreme

This is a quality remake of a classic set; a fantastic recreation, that evokes feelings of nostalgia!
The set has expanded playability, build technique, and display-ability beyond the original 1989 Eldorado Fortress - with updated prints/characters.
The modularity of the new version is a bonus and there are so many details built in to the brick-built base as well as the fortress itself. The ship with printed fabric sails is a lovely addition.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pirates!

Because I have only become a Lego fanatic since my grandson was born( 10 years ago) I don’t know the history of a lot of kits but this eldorado kit more than lives up to the hype. I know it’s rated for 18+ but my 10 yo had no problem with it- he constantly commented on the clever piece placement in the construction elements and could appreciate the trap doors and other foils. Then as an added happy surprise- it supports Pirates of the Caribbean ( which he got last year) . All in all a super kit and a fun time
