Garbage. Poor company policy

Mine broke at 14 months. 2 months past warranty. Yale said eat dirt. Cannot believe a company in 2023 conducting business like this. Like the others, they don’t stand behind it
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Get the touchscreen version.

It's okay. But for the money saved compared to touchscreen version... well, I feel that you should pay a few more bucks and get exactly that, the touchscreen version.Oh, and the door handle installation can be a little confusing. Read the manual thoroughly, make sure all your parts are there before you get started, and make sure no plastic parts break. The August Connect console is especially infuriating, if you have more than one of these smart locks; it's one device per Connect.Good luck.

Another device for Alexa to control
on March 8, 2021

This lock is great. It wasn't hard to install. Setting up the wifi wasn't hard. I connected the lock to my Alexa so now I can lock/unlock with voice commands. I also set up codes for the keypad which works well. I read some of the negative reviews about having issues with WiFi etc. But I haven't experienced any of those issues. I would recommend this lock to anyone looking for a smart lock.

Overall this is great. Would recommend for any door without a deadbolt.

Works well and pretty easy to install

The main thing to note with this is that it will not work on doors which have two holes for a latch and deadbolt. As far as function goes, it has worked beautifully. I wish there were more choices for the lever design. Technically, there are but they are not easy to get. However, if you find a dealer you can special order handles/levers that you like - additional cost of course. For example, I need the Valdosta lever design to match my other levers in the house. It has been very reliable so far and I like the fact that I can use an external battery in case the internal one fails. I don't trust the other smart locks/levers that don't have this or a key function. Failures of mechanical devices is a normal part of life and to not have a backup option is crazy IMO. This lever checks all those boxes. Now if it only worked on doors with 2 holes I would buy another one.

Feels like commercial quality

This really impresses; feels like commercial quality. While the buttons are not a touchpad and feel a bit dated, I often find touchpads frustrating as they don't always recognize your touch. One problem with this set, though, is that touchpads often scramble the location of the numbers on the screen, so someone would have a hard time guessing which numbers were part of the combination. If your door is already drilled for this style, installation is less than a 30 minute affair, including pairing the system with your network, (and whatever smart enabled ecosystem you prefer). No crazy skills are required, nor specialized tools, just a screwdriver and the ability to follow directions.I do prefer to have a keyed option just in case the battery goes out, and this is one of the few left with that option.

Not perfect, but close

I am very happy with this lock set. It works beautifully with the app, and also with my voice activated home assistant.Set up was a little tricky since the hub needs to be plugged into an outlet close enough to the lock itself and also close to the internet router. We don't have an outlet right beside the door we are using with the lock, so it took several tries to find the right spot. But since then, it has been reliable.Location service with the app doesn't always work correctly, and I would like to be able to set the distance myself instead of having it preset-for instance, I would like the door not to unlock until I am closer to it than the preset radius. There are some things included in the package which are not applicable for the device-for instance an unlock notification piece that only works for deadbolts. That also brings up a point — I would like this to be a deadbolt. It would make a lot more sense than just having a regular lock. With a regular lock, I feel the need to use a deadbolt, too. We just have a keyed deadbolt, so that negates some of the cool feature, like the auto unlock. I would like that deadbolt to be one of these with the remote app, auto lock, etc. But I'm not sure if that door would really fit a large keypad like this for the deadbolt in addition to this one for the regular lock, though.I feel like a lot of locks like already have autolock, too-you just twist the small knob on the interior of the door to turn them into autolock.I appreciate having several ways to lock and unlock the door. The key hole is not hidden, so is easily accessible if that's what you prefer. The keypad is right there, too. Plus there's the app. And finally the optional voice control if that's what you want to use. After having used this for a while, I do like the design and the functionality. For my preferred door, I personally think it would have been better to get this in a deadbolt format, though.

Super Smart To Have Yale Smart Locks
on February 10, 2020

Putting Yale's smart locks on all of our exterior doors has to be one of the best home upgrades we've done. Before, if I ran next door or took the dogs for a quick walk, I'd have to grab my keys or leave the house unlocked. Now I don't even carry keys unless I'm doing the driving. The last lever lock we installed was the quickest. Each install has been quicker than the last. We've been luckier than some and haven't run into complications requiring any special tools or cutting holes. It probably helps that our home is newer. I imagine it could have gone differently if we were still in our old home that was built in 1890. The worst experience I've had was my fault for not promptly responding to a battery warning. I arrived home and couldn't get in my usual (side) door because the keypad had no power. With no keys, I couldn't use the property's front door (it now has a Yale smart lock). The back door already had a smart lock, but the privacy fence was too tall for me to climb and I wasn't carrying the gate key. I waited on the porch until my husband got home (he drove and was carrying keys). I've since learned how to stash and use a battery for temporary power to enter my code, but more importantly, to not ignore the low battery warning. A feature that's really sold me is the ability to give different people their own code. When we had temporary help during our busy season (home based business), I could program access for them to have their own code that worked on only one door. Through the app I could schedule specific times when the codes worked for our helpers, and I could see when they arrived. Codes can be changed at the lock or through the app, so I could deactivate or activate a code from afar using my phone. I can't say enough good about these smart locks and I can assure you that the more you use them and their features, the more you will love having them. Five stars
