Great product but wasteful charger issue

Easily set up my smart hose but my initial charger didn’t work. It’s seemingly a common problem bc they have a way to quickly get a new one, which is great but extremely wasteful. Now I have a spare charger that doesn’t work and has to go to the landfill

Great add on control

I have a 16 zone rachio controller, but I have one particular spot of grass in a shady area that I wanted to control separately. I didn’t want to buy a whole new valve just for the little area so I decided to try this add-on hose valve. I attached a Rainbird hose pressure regulator to it and it works exactly as I wanted it to. I added micro sprinklers to a drip hose connected to this valve and it’s great. I’m able to time this separately from the rest of my system and it works without a hitch. Very happy with my purchase.

Excellent performance!

I switched to Rachio for my sprinkler system controller and it’s the best! Adding a hose timer for a bed that’s not on the system is a great option. I’m looking forward to hooking up my Tempest Weather Station!

Not that smart

It can turn on and off remotely. That is nice. Last night it was raining, I was walking through the wet grass. I had driven home from work with the windshield wipers on. Rachios basic meteorology reported rain, but also said 0" precipitation today and tomorrow. I don't know if that is inaccurate weather data, or that the grass can get pretty wet without inches of accumulation. In the spring, the grass doesn't need much watering because the cool temps result in evening condensation. In the summer it is far warmer and dryer. Rachio has no awareness of this. I guess it's nice I can edit the schedule manually from my phone, but I really have to do all the thinking and give it daily commands.

The valve has had to be replaced three times

The first valve that I had for some time started to leak. I was sent a replacement that showed no flow detected errors even though the system was running. That was replaced by a valve that would not shut off. I’m waiting the 3 rd replacement which, as I’m told, is out of stock. Hope that one works properly if I do get it.
