Fussy setup; bad hub power cord

Seems to work well, though doesn’t account for rain that just happened, oddly. The adapter for hub is fiddly but they say they’ll ship replacement.

Convenient on-off valve

Pros: works within an existing Rachio app providing on/off hand-watering option in addition to timer control with their reliable standard Gen3 controller.
Cons: battery devices are inherently less reliable unless serviced regularly. Above-ground-only installation degrades battery performance from heat. Yet another hub device is required.
Overall a useful tool but needs too much monitoring to ensure it’s functioning properly over extended periods of hot weather.

WiFi has stopped working twice

I really liked the unit at first but it has dropped the WiFi twice and the second time I was out of town so I had to have someone go to my house and turn them on manually so my plants didn’t die

I guarantee you that if I can get it to work, anyone can. My evaluation criteria are: simplicity and reliability. Rachio satisfies both. After a month of use, I confidently award 5 stars.

Rachio hose valve.

Overall I like the valve, it performs like it’s supposed to and was easy to set up. I am quite mystified, however, why the wifi hub has a cord that will NOT stay in. It’s annoying at the least , and problematic overall. Also, I see a rain skip, but not a wind skip. That would have been helpful.

Smart Buy

The rachio smart hose timer was so easy to set up and get running right out of the box. In addition, the timers can be programmed from my ipad, without having to reset the entire time, like some other types. The system was a smart buy.
