Perfect solution

I have a Rachio controller for my sprinkler system and it works flawlessly. I needed something to water spots not covered - but remotely. The Smart Hose Timer fit the bill perfectly.

Simple and Intuitive

The Smart Hose Timer was easy to setup. The hub syncs easily and quickly through the Rachio app and adding the hose device was a breeze. I like being able to water the small atrium area at my vacation home with the device attached to the hose and a sprinkler.

Absolutely LOVE the Rachio Hose Timer

Several years ago I recommended the Rachio In-Ground Sprinkler System Controller for his new large 10 zone property. He LOVED it! Still does! I recently down sized to a small Over-55 property which had no in-ground sprinklers. I had shlepp the hoses around and get mechanical/timers which never worked. What a pain! My son recently alerted me that Rachio had finally come out with the Smart Hose Timer! I could not order it fast enough! Saves me a ton of time and money. No more watering the grass when it’s not needed! Highly recommended for those who have to use hoses. And it is really easy to setup and connect to your WiFi.

Another hub

The valve works great but it requires yet another hub. And the status light on the hub is too bright and can't be adjusted. They should have waited and released it with Matter Over Thread. It does its job well but it was obsolete before they even released it.

Great idea, good app

Overall I really like this product. I deducted one star because it sometimes has trouble connecting, even though the valves are within 50' of the hub.
Great to be able to remotely turn the water on and off, and set schedules. And the rain skip feature is a good idea.

Smart Hose Leaks!!!!

The Smart Hose leaks from its outlet and from the battery compartment. Installed in June and it leaks in July. I could handle a leak while it is on, but not while the smart hose is supposed to be closed. I have videos, but this website will not let me attach them.

Great Product!

These timers are amazing! They are solidly built and perform well. The Weather Source and Thresholds add tremendous power and save money. I was even able to add my Davis weather station to the Weather Underground application, and then select my own weather station for collecting extremely accurate data. Also, range does not seem to be an issue. And I love the flow sensor - gives me comfort that things are working properly.
Programming is pretty simple. My only suggestion would be to better integrate the hose timers into the controller app, or at least allow multiple hose timers to use the same program. But these are minor quibbles. Overall, extremely satisfied with all the Rachio products.
